Hi all, Big fan of FOC (in fact, it got me into collecting) and I've logged a ton of hours playing online....now I noticed that ROTDS does NOT have traditional multiplayer; but rather "escalation". Can someone please explain to me what this mode is, and perhaps how compares to an online team deathmatch or something like that. Thanks! edit: so s I read more about it, 4 players play online defending off waves, right? Does that mean a human player will never be playing against another human player? In other words, all four humans will be playing against the computer?
You've got it right. One to four player-characters fend off increasingly numerous and dangerous computer-controlled enemies, upgrading weapons and buying health and ammo earned by defeating said enemies in order to stay alive and maintain an advantage.
Yes and also, escalation has been in two of previous three recent transformers games, so I'm wondering why you haven't played this mode.
lol, yeah odd right? Well I was so into the team deathmatch, and capture the spark, that I never paid any attention to the other modes. Bummed when I saw none of them returned.
In FOC - very fun and interesting, especially if you play it with friends. In ROTDS - weird. I try it one time last night. Very fast and higgledy-piggledy. I just can't understand whats going on in ROTDS escalation. Maybe it's just me, but it's odd. Many characters but without any personality. FOC escalation is class-based tactical wave-survival. ROTDS escalation is like a mess.
If you're looking for good escalation, WFC is your girl. Infinite waves, huge, varied maps..... Beats both FOC and ROTDS.
I like WFC and FOC escalation, but ROTDS... Maybe I do sothing wrong or my teammate are too strong - but it's too easy. They promised us bosses - where them? I only see one weak Jazz coming about 8-9 wave. Where is bossfight after 15 wave?! I don't understand their logic.
