Eh, I've still got enough of a PS3 and PS4 backlog that I probably won't start caring about the 5 until at least the "Slim" revision and subsequent price cut. Especially since thus far, SquareEnix have said that FFVII:Remake will continue to release on the PS4.

Same but I'm scared to touch Skyrim or Oblivion because they'll both take forever to beat and ruin my chance to play other PS2-4 titles.

If a remastered or new Demons Souls with day 1 MP is a launch title, hell yes.

Not PS5 specifically, but looking forward to new gen in general so developers can start going nuts again without having to worry about running on 7 year old potatoes.

Looking forward to seeing what the launch offerings are. If PS5 has *full* PS4 BC, then that'll be nice.

I think we already know Scarlett's BC capabilities. (Same as X1)

I read the Game Informer article Thursday afternoon and the PS5 sounds like it's gonna be cool. I just really hope my 2yr old 4k tv isn't out of date for the games coming out for it and console connectors. Plus,.....I really hope the games are going to be still $59.99 and the PS5 console doesn't sell for more than $400. Since to me that is a whole lot better than what i paid for my PS3 60gig version. Which was huge $600 plus tax. Thanks for dvd trade in money that time from GameStop i was able to offset that price a little but still miss my Dukes of Hazard dvds.

I'm expecting highish price at launch and a much longer then usual cross gen period this time round. The hardware they are talking about isn't console cheap at the moment and nobody will want to leave the massive current gen install base behind in a rush, especially when running the same games across both gens shouldn't be much harder then current gen base and pro in most cases if they've done a competent job designing the new systems.

For those Graphic Savvy, the best takeaway will be Raytracing and 3D audio.

Bigger GPU and switch from HDD to SDD will be a big jump in performance. AMD though, euw.

On the fly raytracing is awesome though, PC video cards have had that for a bit now.

Been looking to scoop up an RTX 2080 here soon .Games look phenomenal.

I watched a video of a supposed leak of the PS5 is December 2020 with a $600 price tag.

These are just rumors but if the price is $600, I'll wait for a price drop unless the storage space is good.

With it being SSD I wouldn't expect a huge storage space.

I also doubt they would allow external HDDs since the games would be designed for SSDs.

External ssds or swapping out the internal should certainly be feasible though. I mean, we're not talking about tomorrow

Could be, but then they'd have to make sure that the externals were SDDs as well.

Point is.. SDDs still arn't cheap, and I can't see them giving you a huge one.

No but, At I won't worry about it next year, after a year, though, yeah, I'll definitely want to swap the hd out

Ok. Then I'll wait a year after launch.

This may sound dumb but since 2001, I would buy games first for a system that I don't have yet. That way I'll have something ready to play.

I have a sort of similar rule, I go by what I call the three, three rule. When you buy the system you must have three games that are out then that you wanna play (You don't have to buy all at the time of the system). Then, you must have three games you want coming out within six months to a year to make the investment worth it.

I feel everyone has a way they buy a new system, some just buy it at launch and cool for them. That said, I just feel if your going to have a system have some things to buy for it when you get it.

I'm probably gonna get a ps5 but I am waiting to see what each side says before I make a choice, never know microsoft could surprise me...
