Do they have any new "features"? I was hoping that wave 3 would contain some new gimmicks.

Both the Javelin and Tunnelweb include parts that attach using balljoints, which introduces some new articulation. They've also added new types of hardpoints in the forms of tabs and weapons with slots. This is also how you attach the new Uju tech pieces, which are being handled differently as well. Uju pieces are now made out of a translucent rubber, and no longer include any sort of missile-launching gimmicks, but are just decorative.

Interesting! At least they are doing a few things differently :)

I'm still hoping for more spring-loaded gimmicks (which they did mention at some point). Maybe wave 4.

I think I like the new style of Uju tech a lot more than the old ones.

Very cool Terran Battlecruiser! Those round parts and wingtips are fantastic as well!

I have been impressed with snap ships since I first laid hands on them. It is amazing how well this system works across various scales and designs. I feel like every build I do is my new favorite. And there has been a heap of creativity out of the community. The funny part is (and maybe I shouldn't admit this) but I own 70+ kits and have yet to build any of the official ship designs in over a year. I bought a heap of kits, opened them, threw all of the parts together, started building things and never looked back. I'm really looking forward to getting my hands on the new parts, four of each of the two new available kits (I wish it was all of them) will be here tomorrow! The sad thing is, after a few recent blitz builds I am thinking about ordering a few more first wave kits as well.

Due to a number of real world factors (IE some serious adulting happened) I just finally just started posting my fleet of ships (on instagram) that I started working on last year. I suspect they may be featured on an upcoming fan Friday at some point from a brief exchange with them...maybe more to come on that soon. I also haven't been active here in quite some time so I can't post links yet...but I will try and post a few times (without spamming) the next few days so I can start linking off since each post contains max images of each ship and there are already a number of ships posted since last weekend...with another half dozen or so queued for photos and posting...

Between these, Armored Puppets and Joy Toy Space Marines the toy budget I had all but mitigated the past few years has exploded once again. It may not be so bad if I didn't "need" multiples of everything I am collecting these days...

I'm also impressed by the flexibility of the Snap Ship parts (I also bought 70+ kits). With so many extra parts, I've started experimenting with creating new parts from existing blocks. Here are a couple of new pieces created using the scorpion drop pods and the separation tool.

I just got the Maul and I have to say it is my very favorite Snap Ship so far. An awesome fully articulated mech ready to size up to any deluxe or voyager Decepticon in battle. So awesome!!!!!

I still can't post images or links (though there are a few images of "2021 snapships unboxing with your hosts viscious fishie and king centipede) out on instagram if one were to go searching) due to forum rules since I don't have enough posts still...but this week marked a huge snap ships haul...bringing my collection to four of each kit (and eight scorpions) from each wave through the Claymore!

I haven't seen anyone really post about this but playmonster has all five of the smaller kits in stock now...Amazon has most of them and the Claymore as well...

There still are not many pictures of that set around...its pretty great...the HUGE (4 square) engine, landing struts, many and varied articulation pieces, nice large body parts, really neat 4 square long scaffolding strut style blocks...lots of nice decoration parts and guns, even the little battle-suit has a good execution with varied arms and back weapons...

The part variations are pretty great...the maul is very well executed for an inexpensive buildable mech toy...however I wouldn't expect to put a lot of weight on its joints with large custom mecha platforms (at least not without a stand). None of the parts just feel like repeats...lots of nice large structural elements mixed with tons more in terms of movable parts combinations and such...and plenty of great weapons and accent pieces...

The figures and missle launchers are perfectly fine, just not really things I personally use much, however I am sure kids enjoy those parts (I know if I were a kid again the whole pilot cockpit thing would make me very happy). Outside of some of the komplex rubbery special bits that I may be able to work into a few builds, I don't really have much use for those either...fortunately as before, the core kits still feel like a decent value even while ignoring those parts. The claymore parts are very interesting...

The only real complaint is that the komplex need a larger set at this point...I am going to have to pick up another batch of kits...probably more scorpions since they have the best block count to cost ratio IMHO...but maybe a small mix of a few kits...

The move to green for the forge wasn't initially my favorite but it's a good green and the color palette is working well IMHO...I am so happy with it I even posited that the next wave could even be a deep orange red in my post to them...

I am gushing over the Maul. It is my favorite toy of the year for sure. Maybe the decade.

I admit I have pretty high standards and I was expecting to find a bunch of little flaws with this thing in terms of posability...having a fairly extensive range of different buildable mecha toy and model lines from the last 20 years or so...the non import non collector grade stuff tends to leave me wanting for more...

While the maul may not be perfect ( I am unfairly comparing him to things like Astro bots, armored puppets, assemble borg, frame arms, revoltech, figma, etc )...and there are a few little complaints I could voice (ball joint tightness)...you are correct, this little guy is pretty great! Enough so I could see buying a other case (4 sets) of them at some point...but more komplex kits first...

I am definitely going to make a four legged walker platform sometime this week or next out of two maul sets and whatever other parts needed...but there are a lot of new builds planned for the coming couple months...

Neat to think that only a year later we already have a range of four mechs from battlesuit to titan...with the titan class being pretty epic!

Don't get excited...no new set...I'm simply referring to the Maul as the current largest of the four mechs you can build as a titan class.

The Maul is now one of the four sizes of forge mechs they have made (note: two middle two types of legs are very close in size and design to one another) with the battlesuit at 1/3 the height of the Maul...and the other mechs at half height. Scalar wise this is a relatively large mech...standing at roughly seven to eight stories tall...

When compared with some of my larger ship builds like the Viscious Fishie which itself is nearly 12 inches tall fin to fin and well over fourteen inches long (and over 3 1/2 lbs of parts)...and isn't even the largest build I've done so far but the Maul is still a good height against any of those ships...

Last but not least...I honestly don't usually consider most of my work to be in traditional snapships scale...the Fishie is meant to be a "Ceolacanth Class Super Heavy Battlecruiser"...its intended to be a massive few hundred crew compliment ship...so when you compare a mech at 3/4ish the height it feels massive...

So with all of that in consideration, I decided to class it as a titan for now...
