I'm hoping Playmates will show some pre-microwaved toys at ToyFare this weekend.

Playmates had stuff, just not public. Doesn’t give the best optics though!

 

  If they had stuff and people couldn't take pictures then that says a lot.

However, if they really had stuff there, someone would have not only taken a picture without permission, but people would have also talked about what was shown.

 

I didn’t even realize that last wave came out...that Gigan actually looks cool.

 

I've seen these in stores they look like baby toys even the super deformed items usually have nice details.

They have their press release, but I don't see anything from Playmates for ToyFair.
Is that usual? Do I not know how to Google?

Gigan looks decent if you don't already have the Bandai.
The 12 inch Final Wars Godzilla looks pretty good, too -again, if you have the OG Bandai there's no need to get it though.

I have hope that the actual Godzilla X Kong line will look good.
But, see my above opinion about hope...

Companies do that all the time at Toy Fair. The Godzilla stuff we did see so far was obviously a leak and not intended for the public. They did have other offerings, just none relevant to this thread.

 

Playmates should be ashamed of this line. Since I collect the more high-end stuff, I never paid attention to the crap in the stores until seeing this thread. It looks like someone or something shat these figures out. Most of them look deformed like the mold machine was overheating and produced blobs.

 

That looks like a toy made at a one or two-inch scale blown up in size. The sculpt is embarrassingly soft.

 

Is there ever going to be a reasonably priced King Ghidorah (Or better yet, Mecha King Ghidorah) that isn't a bath toy?

 

I wonder if the Playmates guy who got this franchise was a Gamera man.

 

Found and bought Gigan today. First time I’ve seen him and I’m not “too” disappointed. I watched a video comparing this one to the last Bandai and there are a few minor changes in it- so I got it. IMO it’s definitely the best one of the recently released stuff.
