If anyone can provide evidence as to how a Trypticon reissue scuppers a new Generations Trypticon, please do so.

Without taking back some of the comments i've made about the price... If that's the best price it's going to be available at, without sales/discounts, how many did Hasbro really expect to sell?

I'm not too convinced the success or failure of this will have any particular influence on a new Trypticon.

    I agree with both statements.

I actually think the reissue of this will help get people more familiar with the character who have little or no prior knowledge of him and boost sales of a new trypticon in the future.

Exactly what I'll be doing - nothing. So that my fellow G1 lovers would get their piece of the pie.

Still, can't really fathom the Generations label for a G1 stuff. It's kind of misleading. I mean,Encore is well known, why can't they just continue from that (curious just curious)

Because Encore's a Takara line and these Platinum Editions are a Hasbro thing?

So it does not have the metal balls in the legs. (Gigastorm mold) Thanks to Godert for that tidbit of info. Great to see the rest! I'm looking forward to comparison to the original!

I had Trypticon as a kid and I have a mint complete vintage one now (with reprolabels upgrade). I'm happy for those who now have a chance to get one but going by previous reissues, the quality usually suffers. For 200 I would think that you can come close to a nice vintage product. 125-150 would be a more acceptable price range.

I'm still trying to complete my original G1. Anyone thinking of selling their original to get the re-issue, let me know. I'm looking for the double radar dish accessory.

TT even claimed that FM sold well.

I'm gonna speculate that Trypticon was earmarked for the Encore line at some point, but TT got cold feet because of their apparent fear of releasing higher price point Decepticons.

Well PO'd from TCP. RK had him coming in June 23rd, so maybe early July? Now if either Hasbro or TT would re-issue g1 Skorponok.

Yes please. I would take Scorps any day over Trypticon... and, well, a host of other Transformers.

Agree totality. I have G1 Trypticon, and paid around this price to get one from ebay. At the time, I felt it was a good buy. Happy to see those who want a minty New one get the chance. People are entitled to their opinions, but I do not see the point of coming to a page just to bitch about a product. Hope this does well, so other g1 products can be reissued. So far, this seems to be sold out everywhere in pre-orders.

So when and where is this gonna be released? TRU only? Speaking of reissues, did the coneheads set ever get released?
