Thanks for this. Can't wait. C'mon Captured Prey, get these in!!!
I had alot of fun with him as a kid! I cant wait for this!
Does anyone know why the two threads haven't been merged? They're discussing the same thing, just in split conversations.
From the beginning it bugged me that Trypticon never had a bot mode. I have always wondered why there was a Zoid battling Transformers. For $200 I would rather have an authentic G1. I never understood the point of the reissues that are the same or more than purchasing a complete G1 original.
Bust that thing out and show it off!!!
Woah this was only rumoured a few days ago and now it's in hand?! Seems to be popular too, Kapow have sold out of preorders. I decided to bite the bullet and order one from TFS Express while I still could.
Yeah c'mon, someone let us know how the plastic feels, stickers etc.
One of the best ever basebots. Even beats the crap out of Gen Metroplex with his more convincing and functional city mode.
Wait a sec, are the stickers pre applied? Or are they paint apps?
One of the reasons I was going to sell my G1 is so i didn't have to remove the stickers to apply a Reprolabels upgrade set.
I wish everyone could say the same thing in their posts - I really don't want $200 to be the next standard price point for these things! As much as I'm interested, I'd rather buy TWO at $150 than 1 at $200.
Trypticon is whimsical. Plus, y'know, Godzilla!
The bigger concern is the plastic quality and general QC. It's sad to say, but you're sometimes better off with the quality of vintage G1 (better plastic/material, generally, imo).
The dino mode IS his bot mode. The city/fortress is his alt mode. It's no different than Ravage, Laserbeak, Ratbat, Sky Lynx, etc. While certainly not as common, it's not exactly unprecendented for TF's to have non-humanoid robot modes.
But he does look like a Zoid, I'll agree with that.
I like it. I have the original one but it has some yellowing. I'm tempted to sell it and buy this one but I think I'll stick with the one I have. It's complete anyway. This makes me want to put the batteries back in it and play with it though.
I agree, price point is quite high too considering he's half the size and cost twice as much as Metroplex Generations. If he were the same size then the cost wouldn't bother me as much...
Yay more pictures of the box..../Sarcasm
S'more pics of his manual and shiny bits

Stickers are pre-applied and can easily be removable if you want to replace them with Reprolabels.
Trypticon is powered by Duracel...lol. Product placement right there...

I like how they have advertising for Duracell but don't include any.
