Lol! I wish I could swap my perfect box that I intend to open with a bashed up one for someone as it does upset me a little bit having received a great one first time and not caring and then seeing so many upset about the condition of theirs. Anyone who's in my area and wants to drive up and swap, I'll swap your dinged box for mine.

At that price I had to pull the trigger and get it from Amazon before they shoot the price back up to $160 or more again. I got free shipping with no strings and used a $30 gift card. After taxes my total cost came to $80. You can't beat that anywhere with a pimp stick right now.

Just for kicks I did some research and found that a new Trypticon in 1986 was selling for about $58 which would be $125 today given inflation.

That was in the Sears catalog. I've now seen him with price stickers as low as $39.99, usually either that or $49.99. Not sure what the MSRP was, but he wasn't regularly $58.

I have a Metroplex box with a $29.99 TRU price sticker and a Scorponok box with a $34.99 TRU price sticker for reference.

I've used this site for this kind of thing. While I agree that $58 is on the high end, I'm convinced that $39.99 is unusually low for Trypticon. There is indeed evidence that it could be found for that price, but it's the very low-end of the spectrum.

My Amazon order of Tryptibabes arrived today. It only took 3 days from the time I placed my order which is great. I'm definitely glad I went the Amazon route instead of the regular collector e-tailers as they had this item insanely overpriced ranging from $150 to $230. I was able to get it for under $100.

Anyhow, I've noticed other's complaints regarding the condition of the packaging for Trypticon and other TFs/reissues from Amazon. Luckily, my item box is in good shape, just some slight wear on the corner tips but that's it. Nothing bashed in and thankfully no shipping labels slapped right on the box....good lord. I feel that more packing paper or bubble wrap could have been added as there was none under the item box nor was there any on the sides, just some on the top. But hey it was a steal and it came from Amazon with no damage so I won't complain. I'm happy about finally owning this as I never had Trypticon for my own as a kid. I only played with a copy that my friend had. I do I have an Encore reissue G1 Metroplex so now he has his rival. I've always felt that G1 Metroplex got the raw deal never having any battery powered or motorized features like Trypticon has. No flashing lights or eyes no no motorized movement (hey they pulled it off with Omega Supreme). Anyhow for those wondering about the shipping package and box condition, here are some pics from my copy. Happy Holidays!!

Anyone order the "used" ones off the warehouse? What's the $88.73 vs $83.63 difference all about? The severity of package damage?

It was in a shipping box. I got it for $31 because I had $60 store credit from a previous refund. So that made the used one drop from $91 to $31.
