I get its idw, but the horns are still iconic. And let's be honest, the horns look a little weird otherwise. I dont really want an updated g1 design. I'm more into the tfc styled new innovated design instead.

Yea I agree, looks a little weird with them pointing straight forward like that in bot mode.

The eyes are what's stopping me from pulling the trigger on this guy. Something just looks so off.

The face is too pinched and narrow, with the eyes too close together. They didn't leave room for a "nose".

Going by Kadmos' development, that face is final.

In that case they might as well just rotate those teeth 180 so it doesn't look ridiculous in alt mode. As it is right now it looks weird in both modes.

I got mine in the mail today.. I finally bit the bullet, and I see how I want to fix the paint on the face, but I was looking for a few answers about the two screws and the cover plugs.

The screws are for securing the thrusters to the back? and aside from the obvious two screw points on the left forearm, where do the other plugs go?

IIRC they're all the same size, so plug whichever holes that drives you crazy when you spot them?

Thanks. I was looking at that, and it's something I'll commit to doing another night.

I set the screws into the backpack wings, not too tight but firm and then worked on the head.

    First step, take it apart.

    20191118_221033.jpg

    A little primer.

    20191118_222352.jpg

While that dries, I eliminated that annoying mold injection 'divot' mark on the ear-fins with a 400 grit polishing film.

    20191118_221231.jpg

Then I applied some light gray and white paint to the face, let it dry then reassembled.

A couple of Reprolabel Autobrands to the shoulders and it's done!

The photos of the figure online don't do its headscult much justice, the gray sides of the helmet disappear into the background it makes his head look narrower than it is.

...i'll take some pictures of my plug locations a bit later if nobody else posts them first: essentially, screw-hole plugs to match molded bumps on the opposite sides of his arms and shoulders...

(they're tricky to insert without a pin to carefully align on-axis with the holes)

    Thanks.

I noticed they're a little tough to squeeze in but nothing a light sanding can't fix. As for lining them up, I've got a set of fine point picks and watchpin punches for such an occasion.

And now for the one joke that never gets old.. "Where'd I put my wallet?"

...okay, note that i haven't inserted my plugs into the blue holes yet, but these images show the plugs opposite the sculpted details they're emulating: that's two plugs in each forearm, two plugs in one tricep, and one plug in the opposite tricep, seven in total, i believe...

...i'm pretty sure the eighth plug is a spare...

...it helped for me to take a razor knife and chamfer around the leading edge of each plug, just a hair to facilitate insertion; you can't see that part once it's pushed down inside the hole...i used a tiny metal screwdriver to position my plugs for insertion, but if i had it to do over again i'd use a round-tipped nylon spudger instead: while the plugs look fine in-hand, in these extreme close-up imaged you can see where the metal marred the plastic around the inner hole...

...ahh, my fifty-year-old eyes, they make everything prettier in real life!.. ;D
