That... Thing    

 

Really debating if this will be my next purchase; does any know a good stand to get for this guy ( 1or 2 for both modes)

 

I got this guy and I was blown away by how awesome he is. Not matter what people say this is my CHUG Star Saber.

 

Honeymoon is over. This is still a very good figure, but nowadays I've been putting him through his paces in terms of cool poses and I am afraid the man in the mask is right, this figure deserves to have better ratchets.

 

What he deserves is to have a Victory Leo

 

I have mine and love it, yes, it has some problems but still it's a pretty good figure. I really don't mind or don't care or don't need a victory Leo as this Kadmos is IDW based and there was no victory Leo/Saber in IDW, so I don't think I'd get it if and when it comes out

So I've just received my Kadmos, I was in two minds on whether to get him, or hope for some kind of sale, but I noticed he seemed to be selling out everywhere, and wasn't so easily accessible to the UK. Bought him off of TF Direct, got a little discount that knocked off under a £5 which is better than nothing.

Just opened him up and first impressions are he is exactly the size I was hoping for, standing him next to my Legends Dai Atlas and other leader class figures from the POTP era and I'm so far glad I picked him up. I caved in mostly because I doubt that if we ever got a Generations themed Star Saber that he would fit in with my other figures, current Leader class he would be too small, and Commander class would make him too tall for me, Kadmos is the perfect height for me personally.

I haven't transformed him yet, but on first glance everything seems to be okay. My only negative so far is the use of Die Cast, I am not a massive fan of it and I agree with others it makes his legs rather heavy but so far seems to be holding up poses.

I've not gotten many 3rd party figures, only Toyworld Infinitor, MMC Jaegertron and MMC Spartan and so far Kadmos seems to be at the top, I had serious problems with both the MMC figures, not QC wise just design wise that put me off them, overly complicated (really should get around to selling them off) but Kadmos seems simpler which suits me fine.

 

Where do I get him lowest price?

 

after having this figure a week
I love him he does have slight issue getting him into a pose but once he is balanced he is good
has diecast in thighs and on legs which i think do help balance out his weight up top
just could have benefited with a little tighter hip ratchets
eyes too close? , not that bad but yes a little


I would be for a more cartoon looking head if they make an kit

 

Okay so I just tried to take my Kadmos apart at the torso to try and make his side to side torso swivel tighter, you have to take the mini saber figure out of the chest, take the central screw out to remove his wings backpack and then there are 3 screws at the back to remove, the shoulders have two springs in them so had to make sure they did not get lost. Upon doing this I noticed immediately that the piece that houses the torso side to side swivel was cracked, I think it was like that from the moment I bought it, hence why it was so loose, I saw that articulation as a hindrance more than anything (he kept wobbling side to side trying to transform him) so decided to just glue it together to strengthen it, but definitely would advise people to be careful with the chest. He can still use the ab crunch just fine.

Sorry I didn't take any photo's, just wanted to deal with it straight away!

I also took his head apart to repaint/strengthen the ball joint. Came apart with no issues.

Lastly I've tried to tighten his thigh swivels, by carefully using superglue between the plastic/metal parts, didn't use too much as I don't want to create stress in that area, but so far seems to be holding up fine.

This is "IDW" Leo. Kadmos is also not an exact copy of the G1 figure right?

Edit: If you want an upgraded original, KFC already made one.

 

I get its idw, but the horns are still iconic. And let's be honest, the horns look a little weird otherwise. I dont really want an updated g1 design. I'm more into the tfc styled new innovated design instead.

 

Yea I agree, looks a little weird with them pointing straight forward like that in bot mode.
