I like this quite a bit, but I agree with others that the proportions seem slightly off somehow. Maybe they’ll take community feedback and fix it, maybe they won’t.
Either way, if it’s in good scale with other IDW figures or even MP IDW stuff, I’d be down. Plus if the Flame Toys one is too short then this could suffice; this will also be way way cheaper

I wish he had thicker legs but for the scale it's fine. I'll be very interested to see if this gets a Victroy Leo at some point.

This is IDW Star Saber. He's a villain and there's never been a Victory Leo in that series.

that doesnt mean they cant make one though, planet x deathsaurus has a breast master and he never used one in idw. this star saber has a saber component when we never saw him split in idw.

It's nice to see that Planet X is willing to pivot into non-FOC designs. I don't want to see them leave FOC behind, but diversifying will be how PX remains relevant far into the future.

Very early design I would expect when you see a physical figure things will look a bit better

That's true, but Victory Leo is a whole different figure and there's the combination aspect.

Maybe just a hybrid simplification due to Milne's uncanny detailing... even so. This looks good. Jupiter's still one of my favorite third party bots. I was hoping they'd continue the FOC line up with a better Jazz and Sideswipe, but this will do.

yes it would be an original design figure, but again both ismenios and kadmos feature original design figures that have a combination aspect (tiger breast and saber) that arent featured in the idw comics. an original design victory leo would be the same thing, just on a larger scale. besides if they made a victory leo to do with kadmos it would sell as long as it looked good regardless of if it was in the comics or not because combining with victory leo is something pretty intrinsic to star saber and people like combining figures

I'm referring to the figure from Planet X. And it's Star Saber.

does this mean the star saber wars are beginning? i'd love to see what MMC would do with him.

saber's jet mode looks a little weak to me but that's certainly not going to stop me from preordering. i hope this guy comes out quick!

Damn, I really want a Star Saber so badly, especially an IDW version. My dinky Robot Master just doesn't cut it (pun unintentional but there it is). I'd be especially on board for an MMC version but Planet X makes pretty quality stuff too from what I've seen.

IDW Star Saber also doesn't have a Saber minibot inside of him as far as we ever saw, yet there he is part of the design. No reason they can't up and decide to make Victory Leo, especially if there's a market for it.

@Black Convoy Just a heads up, this thread isn't linked to the news article about this product. Might wanna rectify that.

I never had Star Saber but was drawn to the Masterpiece several times since he was essentially Powermaster Prime with a different cast and gimmick.
Unless there's more under the hood, this version is dropping most of that in favor of going IDW-ish. Not a problem if IDW is what you want, but I'm not feeling the same draw.
