I like the original. I wouldn't have mind having 2 originals cause this figure is really really well made but the metallic one fits the bill well for a 2nd version. Ya but I like the original better.

I'm getting the metallic. I prefer his yellows and reds more than the original. Reminds me more of g1 cartoon grimlock.

Will do when I get Snarl and Sludge.

Sludge may be a while as I'm waiting for the metallic version.

So, is the metallic color paint or plastic?

Interesting. I would've thought that paint would make the price a lot higher. However they did it he looks fantastic.

I hope they do the whole team.

I would love to hear people's in hand thoughts on the metallic version of Vulcun, especially from those that have the regular one as well. And does he look 'off' from the rest now?

With the exception of (what appears to feel like) tighter joints, Metallic isn't really that much different than standard Vulcun (er, besides deco that is). I do like the new packing inserts used on Metallic. He does look slightly off from the rest due to the shinier sheen, but I've always considered Grimlock special and the metallic distinction adds to this. That being said, if PX decides to go metallic on all the dinos, I am SOOOO in.

So it's the red and yellow that look different? Is the metallic grey not quite a bit lighter? I'm having a hard time determining this from pictures.

Man, I didn't see that post (due to the spoiler tag). Those pictures actually make me lean toward the regular one.
Thanks a lot (and @NemesisGamer too ofcourse!), that was helpful.

Yep. We got an awesome crowd amongst the FoC/WfC fans

Go for what you like. Me? I sold my regular Vulcun and immediately went for Metallic. I hope PX does a limited Metallic run of Megs as well as the rest of the D-bots, but that's wishful thinking ;)

Your welcome happy to help! :thumb

Also sorry about the post, I try to put the pictures(especially if I have a bunch) in a spoiler tag, so it doesn't bog down the thread. I usually post atleast one picture and then put the rest in the spoiler tag, but for some reason I didn't haha.

You could easily do the same by using the thumbnails for the rest of the pics...

Call me crazy, but I prefer NICE plastic over paint (when it comes to full body painted vs plastic). I play with my figures waaaay to much to not screw up paint covering all surfaces.

Touche haha, but very true. I don't know I tried doing that in the past, but for some reason I had people telling me the pics were too small and even clicking on them didn't help. Thanks for the advice though. :thumb

So true. This is what I thought about on my first attempt at transforming him to dino mode and boy was it worth all the trouble.

Just got my vulcun and thought about this post. I really planned on displaying him on bot mode but THAT is the BEST ALT MODE for any transformer 3rd party or official. His alt mode looks awesome! It has better articulation than any alt mode I've seen. It has the right size and heft to it and one of the most accurate portrayals from its source material. The same goes for the paint and sculpt. Just an awesome awesome figure. I'm really blown away by it. Pictures and videos don't do him justice. I'm not planning on switching him back to bot mode anymore lol.
