I finally have him and everyone was right; he is AMAZING. Not just a big, beefy Grimlock but one that addresses the major heels of all Grimlocks. Less kibble, more solid backpack, and an amazingly flexible tail. God this is a good figure.

    He is one beefy dude!
Thought I could get by with a Hasbro focus grimlock, but with the quality and dedication planet X has put into this (their) line I am all in****edit *** besides their ultra magnus

By the way any word on Neptune reissue ??
Last I heard they were not doing a reissue
    Any one know ???

He was cancelled. I know that I am hoping this is received so well that they do the others in this deco. At the very least, I am hoping for Caelus to get this treatment.

Yep. As Flux stated, he was cancelled. Something about a big problem with a factory PX was using that caused them all sorts of delays (and other issues).

I am really fighting the temptation to try and land the rest of them.

It helps that they're not in stock like, anywhere.

The only one that's going to give a really tough time to find is going to be Neptune.

Don't look at Robot Kingdom's - Planet X page then.

Damn damn damn I love this guy

I just cannot put him down. Look at how awesomely they solved the Grimlock transformation problems--the back kibble all just folds up. The tail folds up really neatly, but it's TOTALLY FLEXIBLE.

This beats every Grimlock I've ever had by a zillion percent

Any in-hand pics of the metallic version? Maybe comparisons with the original too?

I can get some comparison pics between him and the original for you. It won't be until later on today though.

I'm interested in this guy, but are there any issues i need to be aware off before taking the plunge? I seem recall there were some issues with his tail and how it transforms into the back of his shins.

Yes. Although not issues you may have been expecting. I had zero tail issues so those may be case by case since tolerances can vary figure to figure it would seem, along with each individual owner's dexterity.

    1) The best T-Rex mode of any Grimlock to date. (Note: not best G1 T-Rex mode, just best T-Rex mode)
    2) once you have him and realize how great he is, you may be tempted to get some of the other Planet X Dinos.
    3) Planet X Neptune (aka Sludge) has had the *final run canceled due to factory issues and will be difficult to obtain for a decent price now that he's the rare figure.

I own so many official and unofficial Grimlocks because of my affinity for the character, however, Vulcan is easily my favorite of all versions of Grimlock. A metallic paint deco only makes him pop that much more.

    * Need a fact check on "Final" run of Neptune. I do know a recent run was cancelled. Don't know if there's potential for another factory outsource at this point. May not be cost effective for them.

I have the original version and it's been a while since I transformed him or looked at the instructions. Going off memory the instructions were horrible and I had trouble doing the tail at first and thought it was a mediocre design with parts that had to flex to move past other parts. I had a eureka moment and saw how to do the tail perfectly without flexing anything. If doing the tail to feet/legs doesn't come to you at first take your time and fiddle with order of operations and position of parts. All in all I fully recommend this figure.

A year later and I'm still enamored with this guy. In every way an improvement over the HasTak version <3

Not really folding up into his shins. I had no trouble with that. The issue is that you have to stress a fairly thin spur of plastic to get one segment of the tail past the rest of the leg, which happens fairly regularly. At Emgo's video right where this starts. Oh, and the instructions are crap and don't tell you anything, but YouTube will make up for it.

So good. I had a lot of stiff bits though that needed working (the rotating toes took me...half an hour to get mobile?) and it has drawn blood. But...this seems almost correct, as you gotta fight Grimlock to win him.

@Mr.Deflok sorry it took a while to get some comparisons, but here you go.

I also took some side pics with the weapons, to me they look the same color except the gray is a metallic fleck.

Great pics, @NemesisGamer ! So weird though, seeing them compared I think I like the original more.
