    Hi everyone,

I just thought I'd start a thread for places to eat here in Pasadena. I just got back from an Italian place named Buca di Beppo, and it was worth every penny. Huge portions, good prices, and great food. did I mention the huge portions? They were giant! Meatballs that weigh around a half a pound! :D

We also tried the Houston Steak House, which was also pretty good. :)  They had BBQ Ribs, and giant hamburgers. :)

Anyway, if anyone else finds a place for a good meal, list it here! :D

Buca di Peppo and serves pretty good family style Italian food. Ate at a couple of them around Northern california. Can't wait till I get down there tomorrow.

Are these place relatively close to the hotel? My dad and I are riding a shuttle van and won't have access to a rental car but he really can't walk that far due to old age and back problems.

I wonder if that is part of the conciere (???) service the hotel provides. I'll call them tomorrow and find out. Thanks for the info.

Why not just walk to a hotel lobby and get the visitors guide to Pasadena. Ive got my whole eating schedule mapped out and Subway is 5 minutes from Sheraton I think.

That works too. I just don't want to put too much undue pressure and stress on the old man. He's not the work-horse he used to be. He manages walking in the convention but from time to time has to go back to the room or find a place to rest. While it is a tf convention for me since he is the only person who will go with me I try to respect his limitations.

The shuttle is free, but if u tip them a dollar or 2 those guys will take care of u. They took me and my military buddy to In & out burger. If u never been u have to go.

On a another note, Do not go to Ruth chris steakhoue unless u want to pay 44 dollars for a ribeye, so we left there and went to yardhouse what a joke of a place over priced. they wanted 31 dollars for a steak and 3 shrimp. Yea 3 shrimp dam man on the east coast a steak and shrimp is like 21 dollars from tgi Fridays and theres about 8 to 10 shrimp. not just 3. but the sheraton has an aswsome breaksfast buffet it 14.95 but the make fresh organe juice plan on going back there over the weekend

If you head westward about 2 blocks from the hotel, youll hit Arroyo Parkway.. head southward for a bit... theres an Ihop and some other breakfast joints on both sides of the street

I just want to find a buffet(breakfast or dinner) thats not 14.95 like at the sheraton breakfast buffet. Im a ravenous beast and a pound of rabbit food or a gallon of soup doesnt cut it with me.

KSA and I walked over to the Paseo Mall by the convention center and there's a restaurant called California Crisp Cafe its a local spot and serves mom and pop sandwiches and soups on the second level by the movie theater next to cold stone. Dude says they open at 1130.

Also a place called Camilles right across from the convention center serves breakfast didn't check what time they opened or prices.

Grocery store called Gelsons just a little bit further down the street.

KSA and I found an absolutely great place for breakfast/lunch. It's called Big Ben's Deli and Cafe. It's located at 199 S Los Robles Ave. Basically walk out the front of the Sheraton to the street, take a left and it's about 1/2 a block down on the left.

Sadly they are only open till 4 Mon - Fri, no Saturday or Sunday hours, but you get good food, good portions for not a lot of money. I got a western omlet with homefries and toast for $4.60. A bagel with cream cheese/peanut butter is only $2. The most expensive item on the menu was $7 bucks.

    Here's a pic
