Damn good 'toon, but seems kinda pointless to rerelease it on DVD when it was cancelled back in the day before it could be finished. I know I couldn't bring myself to buy it knowing that, despite it being a complete DVD set, it's not truly complete.

I remember being fairly disappointed as a kid when that show never got to finish it's story. It was like the Firefly of my youth.

I'm sure a lot of that is me looking through rose tinted glasses, though. I've not seen the show in years, so it probably doesn't stand up as well as my imagination thinks. :p

qft, I found the whole series online a year or two ago, but was shocked to see that it wasn't actually completed.

Nice, PODW deserves a DVD release, no matter it wasn't really finished. It is one of the best '90s cartoon series.

Boomerang rolled it out a while back.

It holds up pretty well, actually. Ioz, in particular is pure fun. He's as much a drinking, wenching, swearing pirate as they could possibly have gotten away with at the time.

But I also think I'm going to skip it, since the show was cut off too soon to feel anything like complete.

If they would at least include a comic or text version of the rest of the story, it would be great. As is, it will be heartbreak all over again not knowing how it ends. I hope that one day someone remakes it and finishes the story this time.

I'll be getting it, of course. I think the show holds up pretty well.

Sounds like there are even more on the way....... maybe they will put out my holy grail.... Mighty Orbots.

I was on the fence about PODW, but I think I will try to pick it up somewhere/some how. Thundarr is what I'm salivating over.

Maybe someone who is going to pick these up will help me out? If you've got PayPal I could send money.

They could have done just 5 more episodes and THEN call it quits.

I refer to it as the Hanna-Barbara Syndrome. They were among the worst offenders of the lot back then, starting so many new series but not ever finishing a single damn one of them.
