Looks like there's quality problems with Piranacon.

Well, I'm not surprised by the comments regarding Overbite. I believe that was also a problem with the TFCC's release. Now the issue regarding Nautilator is a new one. I'm curious to know if the missing rod (around the head) is going to be a widespread problem.

 

Good thing it's a BBTS exclusive. If there's one retailer known for customer service, it's them.

 

Even after reading Diem's review, I still want that Reissue. The Nautilator issue is probably the most concerning for me. I've encountered G1 versions of Overbite and Tentakil with the problems he stated. Those don't bother me as much.

 

this is a real shame since mine will have to travel across the seas before I find out if its ok or not. saying that its nothing that cant be fixed.

As for the missing gun well I'm sure BBTS could ship extras

 

I don't mind the QC issues. it can all be fixed, pretty easily. as long as all the parts are there, I don't care. I'll make it work. metal pin? easy. loose fitting pegs? easy. missing gun half?... okay, not so easy. hope mine doesnt have that problem.

True, but I can't help but feel sorry for Joel, knowing there'd bound to be a lot of upset people contacting him.

 

That's my main concern as well. As long as it's easily fixable or little weapons not needed in Piranacon mode, I don't care much

 

I'll wait for a couple of more reviews before I make any decisions on my pre-order.

 

wow . according to some people over there, the most competitive street price is around us$44 each...

 

This makes me a bit uneasy about keeping my preorder. I really hope it just with the one he got and its not wide spread. I'll wait for more reviews before I decide if I must cancel my preorder.

I'll feel sorry for Joel if he get inundated with issues with the set.

 

There's quality problems with one set. Until it's rampant I don't think that's a fair statement. The most vocal are the ones who have a reason the yell the loudest.

 

Hopefully, more folks get them in hand and review them. I, for one, am now on the fence about my preorder but will hold off until more info. becomes available.

 

This is kind of why I waited until the August shipment, see what the July shipment looks like.

Well, I'll be keeping my preorder. I'm not taking one review as the rule for the quality of all sets. And realistically, even if some of the qc problems are common throughout the sets, it's still a damn good deal for a Piranacon and I'll enjoy him all the same.

 

well keep in mind in HK they dont have to deal with international shipping charges, import taxes and what transport that is needed is far cheaper since most of it comes right from the source so they are paying alot less for their product.

Maybe for some it might be cheaper to import one from an HK seller but if your the sort to get stung on customs well it could work out costing the same

 

that makes me giggle a little, but it's still so cool

 

i ordered two incase these were somewhat improved over the TFCC version, more than likley i will go back to one, but will wait for more reviews. its still a nice piece just to mess around with and ive always liked the oddball designs. Its a real shame thats theres some sloppyness here, eg teh stickers, if takara makes this an encore release at some point hopefully the sticker issue is resolved. its nice teh stands are definitely in there, i think i might have piranacon in pieces in a nut bowl on coffee table so when people come they can fiddle  

 

if theres 3-4 issues with this one random one set its quite likely that some issues are widespread.
