Finally came in the mail. At first I was pretty disappointed, but when it all comes together, it's pretty decent. The eyes worked well. I might make some modifications to the "doors". They are too flimsy. And I may stuff the leggings to make them more solid. Any suggestions would be awesome. My kid was totally stoked.
I opened this thread not expecting much because I've seen previous costumes but WOW! THAT COSTUME IS AWESOME!!! where'd you get it? and you must have paid a fortune for it! I would so like one.
I will warn anyone considering this. When the sum of it's parts come together, it does look pretty awesome. I was actually surprised. But judging it by its individual parts, it does feel kinda generic. Like I said, I may add something to the wings/doors to make them more sturdy. My son's reaction was the ultimate confirmation and I was glad I got it. I bought it from a vendor through Amazon. Basically it saved me about 50 bucks, and the vendor even admitted so, when I called them. I don't want anyone to get buyer's remorse, which is why I was warning. It's not "hard" material. All the pieces come together with velcro (though it seems to hold well). The eyes are pretty damn awesome though, as they are not generic little lights. But the pieces are only a few steps up from the material you get with the face masks at Target. The difference is that the jump-suit is pretty well-put together, and that all the pieces coming together do look awesome. The Optimus Prime one looks pretty amazing but, not only is it more expensive, but he disappeared day one.

They've been going up and down as they sell out in different vendors. I got it before it spiked up a bit. Optimus started expensive lol.
I'm actually making plans to make a DOTM Wheeljack costume. If no one knows Wheeljack, I'll just say I'm a theropist or a robotic Albert Einstein or a Ludwig Von Drake as a robotic human.
Well this is just a maybe. This maybe only costume I have to make without Papermache. Some one my best Halloween costumes were made of papermache and ever since that mice problem in my basement (because my papermache paste is made of flour) I was not allowed to make another papermaches costume again. so this is something I have to do with cardboard and foam (I tried doing Satelite Soundwave years ago, but it didn't work).
Even comes with the ever popular, multi tasking, Bumblecrotch cup guard. Awesome, the most needed accessory ever finally makes it way home.
