    I cannot understand why movies do not have standard worldwide rollout dates. All this makes people in the US want to do is find bootlegs from cams (I am NOT condoning such behavior). If they would release it everywhere at the same time, the appeal of trying to get an advance copy would diminish.

    Sigh.

    Today was the German PREMIERE PARTY. You know, as in "invited guests only, stars and director in attendance" and all. The German movie launch for the general audience is still more than a week away.

    You can't have one worldwide premiere date, unless you
    a) want to have most of them without the stars and directors or
    b) expect the stars and directors to have themselves cloned.

    Also, I don't get why someone would freak out over international movie launches not being on the exact same date worldwide, as long as it's still within the span of a week or two. Is it really THAT hard to watt five days longer? We're not talking about a US launch three months after the Japanese launch.

    And really, people. There's a difference between a "premiere" and a general movie launch in a country.

    Moreso they want to evoke that reaction among their readers. That's one of the selling points of Europe's biggest newspaper. To paraphrase German band Die Ärzte: Bild consists of fear, hate, tits and the weather forecast. :D 

    They're the epitome of the yellow press - only they're actually considered a legitimate mainstream medium - if not THE one big mainstream medium - by far too many German people.
