alright ive decided to just do it but im not sure which one is better I know Photoshop is considered the best but I would rather get one of the free ones and I know of GIMP and Paint.net which one is better?

 

I prefer paint.net because of its ease of use. Gimp was really, well gimped IMHO...Also there are loads of plugins for Paint.net on their forums.

 

yea im kinda pulling for paint but ive heard a few people say Gimp is better

 

If you go with Gimp there is an addon pack that makes it look and function a lot like photoshop call Gimpshop. Try it out and see if that suits your taste. I liked paint.net because it was closer to adobe fireworks which is what I learned in college.
