Somehow...the idea of it being CGI depresses me. I know its not as popular a cartoon meets real life as Mary Poppins or Bedknobs and Broomsticks but I'm personally sick and tired of CGI and I'd like to see a Disney animated movie that's drawn more and CGI'ed a little less. CGI just can't compare in my personal opinion.

I remember it vaguely. It was an animation/live-action mix.

I hope it goes all right.

As someone who grew up loving this movie, I don't really see the point to remaking it. Then again, Disney will seemingly remake anything these days. Maybe they'll release the original on blu-ray to coincide with this.

I can totally see Sasha Baron Cohen doing the role of the Quack Doctor.
It's just like the roles he had in Sweeny Todd and Les Miserables

Child Exploitation, Slavery, Dangerous medicine, Destruction of innocence, Greed, Insanity.

And keep in mind, all that was the original film. This would have easily have been a pg-13 film if it hadn't been made by disney.

    PG-13 didn't exist until the mid 80s.

I don't like the idea of the dragon being CG, unless it's like the CG in Futurama, where it's nearly indistinguishable from the cell animation. The cartoon dragon in the original made it clear that it was thing that did not belong there. It was clearly not from the same world. The only way I can see to do that with CG is to either fake traditional animation, or look like really bad CG.

Of all the random ass decisions to remake a movie...

Wow...just...wow...now they are really reaching for remakes.

you know I think I'd like it better if Disney just brought this one out of vault for remastered DVD/Blu Ray

    I didn't know that.

Disney is also wanting to remake black hole and flight of the navagater but both are in movie limbo right now!

You can thank gremlins and temple of doom for pg-13! Jaws and poltergiest were both pg and any kid could go watch them! First pg-13 i think was red heat but i might be wrong.
