I have never clapped at the internet before, but I just applauded when I read that.
The announced it was Cullen on G4TV too. According to the producer they interviewed, they're going to choose Megatron in post production.
aaaaand THAT news was the G4 "exclusive" news
EDIT: Oh goddamn you 500 Internal Server err0r!
OMGAWD YAY!!!11!!! CULLEN!!1!!!
finally good news about something concrete, thank you god. i couldn't be happier right now!
The dude also said that Prime was gonna be 32' tall. I like that number better than the 50' or whatever Bay said.
Man this is gonna be awsome now all they need to do is get Frank Welker and it will beyond excellent. I was praticly jumping with joy when I read that post and I had to reread it to belive it. Oh yeah on comi-con coverage on g4 the guy said OP will be 32 feet tall.
Lets not get carried away. I dont want Dreamworks to use nostalgia as a cover up for a shit movie.
I would have taken an original Prime voice just for this movie to be assured as great.
I got goosebumps when I read that.
He also confirmed Op was indeed a Semi, and not a fire truck, or anything else. And he also confirmed SS is not a George Forman grill.. LoL!
Best TF news I've heard in a while!
Freaken awesome !!! This days is just getting better and better as it goes on. That's one giant step in the right direction. I hate when they hire big name celebrities to do voices, since half of them can't voice act.
I was thinking back at CyberCon last year how it's funny that only a small group of dedicated fans stayed to hear him. But I wondered what Cullen thought, maybe the crowd was small, maybe we were all dorks, but he looked surprise to see he had a fan base. I wonder if he knew that we were all making a big fuss on the Internet to get him back. I'm glad he got this and I hope he profits well from this, because he certainly deserves it!
Oh yea, I'm very happy!
I opened up my Netscpae browser and this was posted as the top news story!
One thing that worries me is that its been over ten years since he did Optimus Prime, so will he be able to produce the Optimus Prime voice that we all remember or will it be diffrent?
This is bloody beautiful news!
If they get Welker in as well, I think I will keel over.
I saw a few video clips of him at a convention from I think last year when he heard there was going to be a live action movie and he did the voice pretty well. Conventions, especially Botcon, probably give him a lot of chances to slip back into that voice and by his own reports when he did the voiceover work for Toonami comercials the director specifically asked for his Optimus voice so he's kept in practice.
It's official! The one bit of news the fandom will NEVER disagree on. Absolutely amazing. Thanks to everyone involved in making this happen!
