yup plenty of time....now first to get Leonidas though
i for one, zerxes should have been a beast wars megatron or a bw2 galvatron. xerxes wasn't an evil version of leonidas...just sayin..
i think their reference is to the 300...King Leonidas vs persian god Xerxes
that's my opinion
I still want the sheaths and the swords from Leonidas. I always seem to miss out on those items. My Terminus Hexatron (Continuum Ver.) doesn't have them and Xerxes won't have them. I'm out of luck.
Maybe PE will sell me some from all the defective Leonidas units.
Leonidas def had cool swords, so I wonder when they're gonna start showing their Big Convoy and if they're going to do O. Primal
That unicorn horn ruined this figure for me. I wonder if it'll be easy to remove.
For anyone who picks this up, would you mind letting me know if the horn just pops off or if it's fixed.
Would be cool if it was like the red visor of the original.
With all the breakage reports in Leonidas I imagine that you can break off the horn on Xerxes clean and without much effort.
[edit:] Color me interested in a Big Convoy in this style from Perfect Effect.
yeah I think the most upgradeable part of Big Convoy was his mammoth alt mode, it was a shell-former but man robot mode is the awesomness.....I'm tripping with that word, anyways yeah def need the mammoth mode improved upon and not to many changes done to bot mode
Try asking the retailers if they would sell you a broken Leo if they have any. Worked for me when I was looking for a part for my PE Arcee
I hope he's still on PE's list after that tease they showed a few years back
Primal would be kickass.
Hope the claim for stronger joints would mean better quality.
I hope the hands are black like this pic when released. Makes a huge difference in the deco and makes its easier to touch up just a few spots with paint to make him more "nemesis" like.
I hope so too, and I will wait for a few reviews before making the decision.
So, I wonder if they will reissue Leonidas now that they improved upon the joints? I missed out when he first dropped, but there are some still out there. I'd like to know if they are planning on a reissue, then I would just wait for that version.
I feel extremely ripped off for buying lionidas and now all these improvements. basically to every part i had problems with
Ugh, that's terrible. I read some reviews that said the joints were very stiff, is there any way you could add a silicone gel to them to loosen them up?
Something like this: Amazon.com: Team Associated 5425 80 Weight Silicone Shock Oil, 2-Ounce: Toys & Games
c/o Hobby Base.
Did any of the early reviews for Leonidas have any issues? I seem to recall universal gushing. Had to sell my Leo at a loss as I found it fragile and finicky - just wasn't much fun in the end. If the issues have been corrected, I might be tempted for Xerxes, but want to know for sure before dropping the dough.
It sucks but that's the price of supporting 3rd parties sometimes. They don't play it safe like HasTak and normally it's awesome but sometimes it's not. I've had problems in the past, Sonicron was a floppy mess.
I make sure to always buy my 3P from a stateside dealer now, not individuals or eBay, because generally you can return defective items. I used to buy them for a bit cheaper off eBay but after a couple problems that were never going to be resolved, I resolved not to buy my 3P from there again.
The best advice I could give you going forward is to use a general supplier if you're in the states, something like BBTS or TFSource. They are large enough entities that there is no real problem with doing returns, in my experience.
I've had successful purchases from places like The Chosen Prime and Agabyss(though this one was packed pretty sketchily) but I don't know how returns work for them.
I've bought from Robot Kingdom before, successfully with no QC issues, but have heard they can be difficult when dealing with returns and broken parts due to you having to pay shipping to China, as well as lack of communication on some occassions. Also, their prices may be a bit cheaper but if you are shipping to the US and want it in 2 weeks it costs as much as ordering from BBTS or TFSource and having it in under a week.
Stick with it and you'll learn the ins and outs. It's rewarding at the end of it all.
On one hand, I feel the same way. On the other, I'm glad PE decided to improve on the issues. As much as I griped about the issues with Leo, I'm happy to see them taking corrective action, even if it doesn't exactly help me with my first run Leo.
