I remember seeing flame effects on ebay for the Dinobots. I wonder if they'll work with this guy.

yeah i need PE to do a repaint into that and just remold the tail into a whip-sword

 

For me, Animated Megatron is at #2 and TFP Megatron is at #3.

 

i havent watched animated much, a few snippets here and there, but wow to be favored over prime i need to take a look

 

BW Megatron/G1 Megatron tie at #1
TFP Megatron/Animated Megatron tie at #2
Cybertron/Galaxy Master Megatron is #3 (the best Megatron out of Unicron trilogy)

 

I’m waiting for an in hand final production review before I make a purchase . Not sure why though as I already have Gorria. I guess I’m just being cautious before I plop down another $180.

 

I personally don't think animated's megs is a better megs than tfp, just because he's such a villiany villian(if you get what I mean.). If I recall, he didn't have much depth character wise, he was just a really fantastic bad guy. He had it all; manipulative, menacing, imposing (due to the size difference between him and prime) intelligent etc. , but he was still very much a one-sided character. That's just my opinion however, feel free to correct me if i'm missing something.

If any megatron deserves the number 2 spot imo that isn't tfp's, it'd be armada (not UT as a whole). His character arc in the final stretch of the show was just fantastic.

If I had to do a list, it'd be
1)TFP megatron
2)BW megatron
3)Armada megatron

 

I know, no harm no fowl. Just something I wanted to throw out there b/c I've been thinking about it since the original TM dragon Megs' unfortunate design placement. He's not the only one to suffer from it either, which leads me to think that an alt-mode's posterior should be considered trunk space rather than muffler-face.

so for the moment this and i'll grab red dragon from FansHobby while i wait on all the Deathsaurus figs to release. in the mean time i'm at a cross roads on which colorway looks better RiD Megs or Galvy, help me out people, dark and evil vs bright and majestic. they're both under $50 complete so price isnt an issue

 

I personally like the black more, and I own the galvatron so I have seen first hand what he looks like. Furthermore, galvatron has some chrome if I recall, which scrapes very easily.

Edit: also he can be your IDW gigatron

 

this thing is insane. Insanely beautiful, insanely fun to mess with, insanely full of character. Everything feels solid on him. Save for the fact that he wants to fall over in robot mode. Some caution is needed to make sure he doesn't fall backwards. Otherwise... QC is great. Joints work fantastic, IMHO. Paint job is good enough. Looks like I can study for that test tomorrow...

We are all awesome!!! Except PE, I bet all these "looseness" will be fixed in the reissue next year.

 

i think nothing is actually loose to the point of becoming an issue. maybe its just me, but i really like the joints on this figure. the colour break up is nice, it just feels like a good figure. if i were to nitpick, i'll say it is backheavy. but i am sure anyone will find a way around it. this figure is tremendous. kudos to perfect effect. they done a good job, and i think i got my money's worth

For all the people who already own him, @TCracker (sorry I don't remember anyone else' usernames), what is the cause of his reported back-heaviness? Is it diecast, if any? (pony)Tail?

Mine should arrive within this week but I lack the patience to figure out why he's so back heavy on my own.

The wings have a lot of plastic. More than it looks. Hence the weight. But it's actually rather reasonable. There's no need to worry, it's not horrible. Just my nitpick. There's no die cast, from what I can tell..
