Hmm, I wonder if there is going to be a repaint or retool of some kind for this guy. I find myself more drawn to the secondary uses for recent PE molds more so than the initial ones - skipped Optimal Optimus for Primal Prime, skipping TM2 Megatron for (hopefully) Cryotek - but can't really think of anything other than standard repaints for this (Nemesis, SG, Bayverse). The Nemesis repaint I'd be all over, but I can't help but wondering if there is something else they could do (obviously, it'll be easier to tell when we get a full reveal).

 

If they make a nemesis recolor of this I'll have no choice but to double dip! Hear that PE?! Haha

I didn’t think that armor would turn into Jetfire, so I guess it makes sense that it turns into a trailer. And, it is a really smooth one at that. Though, I find the old Army star and bars to be a little out of place, unless that’s something I’ve forgotten from seeing RotF a decade ago.

But, dang it, now I’m also speculating about a possible Nemesis redeco, while I also dig the basic deco... Oh, the temptation...

Holy cow, the armor turns into a clean-looking trailer? I am very impressed!!

Not totally sold on the re-tool for the core cab bot; that's kind of a strange mix of classics/movie/evergreen styles (definitely could've done without the flames). I prefer the cleaner look of their original PC-16 Jinrai... I wonder if the original would still be compatible with the new trailer?

But alt mode & combined mode look great! Black trailer is very G2 Prime-ish.

Oh yeah, I'd definitely go for a Nemesis repaint of this.

I really want to see the back of the individual cab robot mode to see what else they changed from PC-16.

We should harass them so they include ports for mounting cannons on it G2 style.

 

That’s kinda bizarre and totally amazing.

Looks amazing, I really hope they've put ratchets or other really strong joints in the KNEES and HIPS, the only other thing I'd be concerned with is if the ball joints in the shoulders can hold up all that armor and weaponry.

 

It doesn't look like they added all that much for the arms to have to support in super mode.

 

there is only one thing on my mind, THIS IS HOW THE MOVIE PRIME SHOULD HAVE BEEN!!!

 

Interestingly that this is CHUG scale. So voyager Optimus and leader size super mode. Hence the 99 USD price tag before ship.

 

Looks like the front face of the truck possibly slides down giving more room for the shoulders to move around by removing a lot of the hunchback portion the original version had.

It looks like the elbows could be ratcheted, but that's just a guess based on those notches that appear to be molded into the joint. I guess if the shoulder ball joint is toleranced well enough maybe it can support the weight of that armor and gun, and ball joints are pretty easily tightened if they have good tolerances to begin with.

I'll probably go all in and preorder this figure, I hope the trailer somehow has room to hold a deluxe sized car and also that it can turn into a battle station similar to RID Scourge/G2 Laser Optimus Prime.

 

What other character (aside from the eventual Nemesis version) could benefit from a retool/reuse of the mold?
