    ah

If I'm not mistaken, the original toy itself can do that actually :D

Yeah, there were a fair number of pseudo-transforming toys in the late '70s and early '80s, where the robot would fold up into something vaguely resembling a tank or wear a backpack to fly like a plane, or a car would sprout stumpy legs or something.

Micronauts/Man had that whole play pattern from the get-go and while it was ALL partsforming, that was its whole point. Plenty of 70's Super Robots had some sort of fudged vehicle mode or "transformation" to give them a gimmick too, Combatra, Dangard, Raydeen etc. And the Shogun Warriors Comic those guys were in had a Megatron VillainBot almost 5 years before our Lad became famous.

I just thought having a transforming sentient alien robot in Marvel 4 years before Marvel wrote a story about the same was funny.

Plus the Biotron toy was designed by a guy who went on to design toys used for the Transformers line!

Yeah, I've said it before... wish the pilot was 1.5 inch man (30mm) rather than inch man! Would be s much cooler for tabletop gaming.

I guess that Phobos repaint probably isn't going to happen after this length of time.

Found some pictures online mixing the SDCC Micronauts figurines with Robot V2. They look great together.
