Grimlock's thighs are locked under the cod piece. Grimlock's knee joint functions as Volcanicus's hip joint

Is Volcanicus well articulated in combined mode with the upgrades? And does the tail get in the way of him standing straight?

 

For those with the hand sets: do not use them on POTP Rippersnapper without filing them down significantly. The peg is too big for the thin plastic used on his fin and will likely end up breaking your figure.

So is the leg articulation hindered if you put Grimlock's legs in the stock configuration?

 

Yes Grimlock’s dino tail tips prevents the figure from standing upright. You could rotate Grimlock’s legs to his standard robot mode tho.

If it’s in Grimlock’s robot mode leg config, then it’s not hindered. One thing to note is that the PE hip skirt section stabilizes the combined mode at the expense of sacrificing leg/hip rotation.

When you only have a grand total of 4 limb bots.  

 

PC-21, the dinobot hands and feet, do the same to POTP Slug and Sludge. Doesn't happen to Swoop and Snarl since the plastic is more pliable with them so Sinnertwin and Cutthroat will probably be fine, Rippersnapper and Blot however are likely at risk.

I'm going with TCW's for Abominus, in the hopes those will work out better in addition to everything else it comes with, but I'll still get the second PE set for Volcanicus.

 

Should I assume waist articulation for Volcanicus is out the window after the torso upgrade?
