I generally dislike the articulated fingers on the 3P MP hands, as they are too fiddly and spindly. Looks at these fists, I get the feeling because they are so much bigger they aren't going to suffer in the same way.

 

Hay thanks for the information. I have never read any IDW's Robots in Disguise comic books. Maybe I should read a couple of back issues that sound pretty interesting

I might get this set just for the new Scrapper/Long Haul elbows-- I get the feeling buying Hasbro Devastator and these parts might cost less than getting Takara Devastator.

 

I'm getting the Takara version, but will buy the arm set anyway for Hook and Mixmaster. The other set (PC-06) is a must.

At first, I was fine with CW Mixmaster as he was. But that cab looks really good! But that's all I'd really want out of ALL that stuff. Maybe the Devy hands, if they didn't partsform.

I just preordered Takara Devastator, so I don't need any of the individual arms. I like Dr Wu's Hook crane better. Not exactly sure why Scavenger needs a new scoop. And a Prowl & Prowlestator head-while nice-isn't needed unless there was a voyager Prowl to go with it. And a way to make Hook the leg...

 

The last part is what I hate, the fact that IDW have made Prowl into an agent of evil. Prowl has always been my favorite. Expert logician, socially awkward, but always trying to do right for the Autobot cause.

Why does Arcee hate Spike Witwicky, and why in the blue blazes does Sunstreaker have an exploding wheelchair?

 

Arcee doesn't hate Spike Witwicky. Prowl hates him because he betrayed the Autobots and the Constructicons hate him because he killed Scrapper.

Sunstreaker was left badly damaged and nearly nonfunctional after AHM. Alpha Trion found him and repaired him except for the legs (he lacked the necessary parts), so Sunstreaker needed a hoverchair for a while. Although he eventually got his legs fixed, he loaded the hoverchair with explosives and used it to pretend that he was still injured when Devastator (combined with Scrapper's corpse) attacked (Chaos). Devastator, whose Scrapper leg was a bad leg due to the host being dead, stepped on Sunstreaker only for the Autobot to transform and beat it at the last second. The hoverchair exploded, badly damaging Devastator's leg(s). While Mixmaster turned out to be fine, Scrapper's body was presumably destroyed.

 

Ahhh, add-ons.
now here is something I can get behind!

 

If they can price them under the Takara import cost, it's an instant buy.
This thing is a hot commodity for the north America market.
I FULLY expect to be robbed by the online retailers.

 

So wait, they're replacing the forearms of the Constructicons but still with the old 'fist-with-a-hole-in'? Should have at least had MP carbot style hands, if not full-on articulated fingers.

Mixmaster's cab does look nice I admit, but what he actually needs is a complete upgrade so he can transform into his G1 truck self (with rotating barrel).

IDW Prowl business is ok for comic fans I guess but of no interest to me.

And still nobody is doing G1 style open canopies for Scrapper and Bonecrusher!...

you need to get rid of Scrapper, and somehow make Hook a foot! and make a Prowl to go in Hook's place.

putting Prowlestator's head on top of hook doesn't make it Prowlestator!

 

The new arms don't look anywhere near as good as Takara's and clash with the aesthetics of the set, same goes for the Mixmaster front. (also, seriously, the hands don't retract at all? It looks incredibly out of place. The Prowlastator head is cool, as is the mini Prowl head underneath.

 

The CW/UW Constructicons are massive mining vehicles. They don't have open canopies.

 

He was talking about the CONSTRUCTICON'S hate against Spike, you know, because Scrapper is dead. Sunstreaker blew a bridge up, taking himself with it, but he was alive and was repaired, but had to use a hovering wheelchair for a while. When Devastator (with Scrapper's dead body configured into a leg mode) came to Cybertron to join a battle against the Autobots, Sunstreaker strapped some explosives to his wheelchair, after he was repaired, and rushed out to the battlefield, tricking Devastator to step on the explosive-laden wheelchair, utterly destroying Scrapper's body and damaging Mixmaster when he was in leg mode.

Besides, that new Mixmaster cab is hardly a massive vehicle...

It's just with all these add-ons intending to make this Devy as G1 as possible, the canopies is the last little detail he needs.
