You'd have to email BBTS to find that out but the same thing happened with one of the ones I bought. I just sanded down the rough edges a bit and super glued the tab on to one side of the swivel. Then I sanded down the outside of the beg just a bit so the sword slides on and off just a fuzz easer. So far it's holding but I don't mess with this figure very often.

I emailed BBTS but this fig has been out of stock for awhile so I'm not holding my breath... Also asked for Perfect Effect contact info if possible. Worst case, I'll try the sand paper and glue...

So I have decided if nobody buys my Leonidas, I will be painting him like my Voltron digibash that I made a while ago while we were waiting for him to release. My question is, if anyone knows, what is the best way to deal with the painted die cast parts? Should I strip the paint or paint over it?

Here is the pic if you are wondering what it looked like.

...I'm reminded as to why I made so many digibashes a year or so ago. This mold goes with any redeco. Even AM Thundercracker.

Oh and I see you had posted it in my old thread back in August. Shows how infrequent a forum-goer I am nowadays. =.

I was hoping that Eness would release a recast of the swords and sheaths the same way they did with the swords for Terminus Hexatron.

Was packing up my figure last night and in the process of transforming my leo, i snapped the left shoulder peg

tried super glue and epoxy but neither seem to be holding up to the torque this piece experiences.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this or have a spare parts Leo or Xeres they want to sell me the piece from?

Depending on the size you could drill holes on both parts and insert a metal pin that goes through both parts. That is what I do when gluing parts together. I usually just use styrene rods, but if there is a lot of torque on the part in question I use metal pins.

You know, I just wonder, with all the stress on these balljoints that keep snapping, why didn't they just make them out of diecast? That seems the smart option.

so the larger piece already has two holes that get screwed into. I'm tempted to just get a longer screw and use that to screw into the peg. Got a handful of throw away transformers that I could probably salvage a screw from.

the pin idea is similar, but there isn't any material on the other side of the break as the piece snapped right the base of the peg. If I used a pin, the screw to put everything back together likely would bottom out before it served a purpose.

Mechanically, to have both ends of a ball and socket joint be metal would involve a far too complicated joint for a toy.

And if only one side of a balljoint was diecast metal, it'd wear down the interior of the plastic socket, and the connection would become loose.

But what could be done is for the stem of either to be metal with a plastic ball or socket attached at the end.

Of course, that increases parts count, and assembly time, and is likely why we don't see more of that.

Will they ever re-release this with the QC fixes they put in for Xerxes?
