Sierra Mist Is Discontinued. Meet Pepsi's New Soda to Take on Sprite (msn.com)

Never really drink it much but my little sister loved it. She will not be happy.

 

I didn't even know they still made Sierra Mist.

 

We have Starry at work, I did NOT know it replaced SM!

 

 

Never even seen one in person.

 

Saw it at Walmart. To me, most lemon-lime drinks taste more or less the same and only vary in the level of sweetness - 7up being the least sweet and Sprite being the most.

 

I only need one star-themed lemon and lime soda in my life and it's Chilsung Cider.


Edit: I don't think it counts but in case it does Faygo Arctic Sun also has a place.

 

In Clockwork orange lingo starry means old. Maybe that could make slogans and commercials seem funny.

 

If they called it “Sprunk” and marketed it correctly, they could probably get people to buy it who don’t even like it…lol…

 

So long as I still have my Slurm.

I actually just tried Starry today. Honestly, it tastes like Sierra Mist still but the aftertaste isn't syrupy like a lot of sodas. It has a really clean aftertaste that reminds me a little of Crystal Pepsi. I actually kind of like it and I never really liked Sierra Mist.

 

I'd just as soon have Crystal Pepsi back.

 

I mean I would too, but aside from the clean aftertaste this doesn't really taste like Crystal Pepsi either since it's not a cola flavor, but still a lemon-lime flavor.

 

I'd still rather have Crystal Pepsi. Lemon-lime sodas are just meh...

 

I always liked Slice lemon-lime soda.

 

If they wanted to do something unique, do a caffeinated version. I'd love a lemon-lime "morning caffeine" option. But there is none AFAIK, so I'll stick with my usual Mountain Dew to get me going...

 

It's fine. but still too bloody much sugar

 

I just tried some last night. It basically tastes like about the same level of sweetness as Slice, which was relative to Sprite. In some ways, it might as well be Slice.

 

Im still trying to figure out how the Starry name won...and what it means.
