To whoever returned an MPM Starscream to Hanover Target without the actual toy in it, and instead resealed it with some random toy rattling around inside:

    Eat shit.

Target can find out who did it, or at least get a good lead on it. They can scan the UPC and see when it last sold (prior to your purchase of it) and if the person used a Redcard, debit, or credit card, they'll have their name. Barring that, they can use the time and date to pull up the cameras and get the person that way. They'll even ban them, permanently, if they find out who they are.

What a piece of garbage, though...

That actually sounds amazing. Have they ever actually done it?

Which part? Tracking by previous purchases or banning people from the store? Because yes, on both. My debit card was skimmed a few years back at Wendy's when they made national headlines for a breach and I had to call Target's corporate number because my credit union wouldn't lift a finger to do anything (which I found out was their job, and the Target guy was furious) and they were able to work backward to find out where and when the illicit transaction(s) took place. Even got 'em on camera because they went through self-check as well as the manned registers.

Heck, Target can even find an old purchase using your debit or credit card if you ever lose your receipt. If you have the Redcard or the Target app, they can go back a good bit to find a transaction. I'm guessing Walmart could, but they won't. Too much effort and actually trying. If it's $25.00 and under, they don't give a crap. Target, on the other hand, they do. lol

Should have been clearer, I meant the banning someone. My respect for Target would actually go up if that happened and they banned the person they found out did it. I guess it would give the loss prevention guys something a bit more exciting to do than their usual day to day stuff.

Oh, they ban people. You just don't hear about it often because Target. Walmart, on the other hand, you'll hear about it all the time because they're the dredges of society and it's "par for the course". Heck, there's a video in which a woman visiting a family member in Florida was removed and banned from the Target store there by a security guard, all on camera. The problem? A coupon. Claims of theft and whatnot, but she actually had the coupon and they ended up removing her anyway. She was banned from the store for life. It was ridiculous.

I'm guessing that viral blowup is why they keep it on the downlow.

Looks like some Targets have MPM Starscream down to $45 now. Closest one to me is Allentown, though. And not sure he's actually in stock there. I already got one, I'm just wondering if it's worth getting a price adjustment.

Same here. Can they do an adjustment using your debit card?

A target employee told me once they can't do price adjustments on clearance items. You're gonna have to return it and get your $150 back, then rebuy it for $45.

That seems like something that would depend on what employee you get and how good of a mood they're in.

Agreed. Tack on that I have no clue where I put the receipt and I'll just have to swallow the clearance miss out.

Doesn't everything at Target depend on this?

They can just use your payment method to look it up if you used a card. No receipt necessary.
