I understand that it can be annoying having the deluxe transform almost exactly like the voyager but it really doesn`t bother me. It`s kind of like rotf leader prime and hftdbb prime, the only difference being that the voyager came second in the movie line, and so it was praised as been as good as the leader instead of the leader being as good as the voyager. So I think that it`s less the voyager fault, and more the deluxes advantage.

Hey Peaugh, what's the deal with the back wheels sticking up in the air? Is it a missalignment that is somehow tied to your gap problem?

Yep, as always great review :)  And couldn't you just plug the blade in upside-down? Yes, you'd still see the hand but you wouldn't need to bother with the waste swivel.

And yes, from what I've seen with both Primes so far, I agree with Peaugh that theyre similar and the Voyager is better. Kind of a catch-22 if you want Megatron :/

It was just a misalignment of the legs. It's easily fixable, and not related to the gapping.

    Thanks for the review.

I think I'll wait and see if a leader comes out though. It's a nice enough toy but Bulkhead being shortpacked worries me so I'm going to get him first anyway.

On bulkhead, when you transform the front wheels, do they like flip down or is it on some sort of thing that telescopes down?

Hmm. I'm not saying this as a positive or negative, but does anyone else notice that this figure transforms almost identically to DOTM Voyager Mech Tech Prime?

I'm actually fine with it, it wouldn't be the first time 2 figures had the same transformation scheme (e.g. Energon Starscream, G2 Smokejumper).

Agreed a thousand times over. You'd think with their revenues from the movies they could afford to not be so damned cheap sometimes. Bothered me even more on the "Ultimate Prime" from DOTM. He ain't very ultimate if he's missing his hubcaps.

It's not that bad. For the Voyager class version of the TFP Optimus it's actually understandable why they did that. There was no other way they could do for the windows due to the design and feel of the TFP style. This is one of the few Optimus toys with fake windows that actually does it right unlike it's Deluxe version.

I'm rather disappointed about the sword. It's a much softer plastic than I expected.

I've never understood why they make some blades from soft plastic and others (Arcee, RTS Prime) hard plastic.

That was paint, not plastic, and would've been too expensive.

It looks exactly like the show, for starters. The deluxe barely resembles his on screen model. It also has barely any kibble and because of the increased size is much more sharply defined as for the sculpt.

I don't understand what the problem is with the legs. So what? How would you do it? I'd rather they keep the figure simple yet effective than ruin it with a needlessly over-complicated transformation.
