I really like that they're mixing up the Minicons and limb vehicles when they repaint the core TFs. Really makes them feel more unique.

Screw Motormaster/Menasor. They should have painted Huffer like Crankcase. That head is a perfect reproduction of the original Triggercon's noggin. And seeing as Crankcase was black and dark blue to begin with, they could have also pulled off a Menasor color scheme to go with the super robot head.
Too bad they weren't a little more creative. Why would Protectobots have one tank, let alone two? Oh well...
So what's the name of Steelshot's minicon? It couldn't be Pinpoint as Leadfoot's minicon has that name.
Protection of the nation's borders from Godzilla? It's Beacon. Pinpoint was the name given at Botcon, so without any other leads went in the system. Should be showing the right name now.
The black one is sex. Not really screaming "Menasor" but that's all right. Still, they could have thrown a bright yellow one into the mix with some purple highlights for the hardcore GeeOne-rs. The so-called "homage" to the Protectobots is dismal. It's like taking Classics Ratchet and saying it's a homage to the Protectobots. It wouldn't have been difficult to get some white and light blue drones with red highlights and package them with it! Since when did Defensor have a green an beige tank? [hasbro facepalm] (the second one today). <whisper> I get it. Hasbro is going to make us buy ALL the 5-pk combiners so that we can mix n match out proper "homages!" </whisper>
I think all these PCCs LOOK nice, but as I still don't have the first wave figures I don't know if I'll keep buying them. The 2 packs I'm more likely to get than the 5 packs for price alone, Icepick looks pretty darn cool, I'll probably with a few of the 2 packs if nothing else.
I really like Smolder and Huffer from wave 1, but these all look universally horrible to me ~ the black Huffer redeco is ok, but the combined mode is pretty ugly... (and an all-repaint wave by wave 3? really?)
some of the repaints looks okay, Loved that Huffer mold when I first saw it. Now the repainted Nemesis Huffer! and his Destrons! I will be parting with cash for that! The Smolder Repaint is nice too.
Apparently you aren't familiar with the Hasbro motto: "It's never too early for repaints!" And thanks to the PCC theme, you can bet Hasbro will be repainting everything PCC related.
