Am I alone in my utter disgust of the PCC line? I do NOT understand the interest in the line at all. The idea was really, really good. Take one core bot and use drones for combined mode limbs. But, the whole execution of it reminds me of Enregron all over again! There really is no excuse that the drones which do not transform can't become decent limbs! You know arms, that look like, well arms! Oh and how about attaching actual hands to those arms! After seeing what FP did with Superion, and Bruticus I would have thought Hasbro saw the light and was ready to change the game. Sometimes I think as fans many of us are ready to take anything new without really looking at what we are being offered.
To each their own. I personally don't like them either, but I am into Mighty Muggs and Robot Heroes. Sure I would like another line that I would buy, but if people like them, more power to them. If not enough people like them, Hasbro is pretty good at pulling the plug. I just hope that the process helps contribute to future transformers development. Hell, maybe they will be a precursor to better future combiners. Atleast Hasbro is putting a significant amount of different stuff out there that there should be more than enough to keep every fan satisfied. For me, it is all about the exclusives and generations right now.
Honestly? Have you seen the new pics of the two sets coming out in 11'? DAMN. The Dynobot... it has normal stocky limbs, and what look to be hands. And then the Devestator homage... the same! I notice that all the 2packs released thus far rock, while the 5-paks suck. They'll all be killer by the end... and you'll hold your tongue.
Hasbro mostly makes toys for kids, not fans. The PPC's are just fine, the scouts are among the best and the combiner limbs are quite fun looking... (they are intended for children after all)
Hasbro and FP are two completely different companies, and operate in two completely different ways. FP caters toward collectors, and Hasbro caters toward kids. So if you want a "proper" combiner, buy from FP, and don't complain about PCC.
Yeah, Honestly! Oh yeah I saw them. Who me? "what look to be hands" see thats what I'm talking about. Yeah more of the same all right! I noticed you cant really combine only two of them, but yeah when you have enough to combine they do suck. If they arent killer now how will time make what sucks better? Yeah cause I will have given up on caring about how much they piss me off. P.S. Nothing personal just trying to be funny. Seriously I saw the new PCC's and they just seem like more of the same to me.
This has to be the most un thought out sentence i've ever heard. YOU are not being offered these, kids are . We are just Fans who dont know how to stop collecting toys. Hasbro does not care what the fans think. They care what the kids think.
Man, Juise is getting eaten alive. By collectors defending toys designed not for fans, but for kids! There is hope for this fandom yet.
Well then you just beat me out for "the most un thought out sentence". I'm pretty sure they come to Botcon for all the kids. Oh yeah the Masterpiece line is totally for the childrens too! Just because its for kids doesn't mean it has to suck. Classics didn't suck. While I hate the movie figures, to a degree they don't suck.
I didnt mean it to that much of an extent. Masterpiece figures and To an extent, the classic figures are made for the hardcore fan. But you are talking about the PCCs, a line designed for Children. I dont think the kids really care that they dont have transformable limbs.
Takara makes MP figures, not Hasbro. On the Botcon idea: Yes, Botcon is aimed at collectors. Yes, toys are shown at botcon. However, that does not change the fact that they are made for kids. Also, if they suck or not depends on the person. I'm sure a lot of kids don't think they suck, and I certainly don't.
OK maybe somehow I haven't made my point clear as you are pointing out something that I had no intention of expressing. "I don't think the kids really care that they don't have transformable limbs." What I am getting at with the limbs not transforming isn't OMG it doesn't even transform! I am perfectly fine with that. My point was, if it doesn't have to transform into a robot mode it should at least have the parts to become decent limb. Hence my reference to being energron all over again. Also I dont see how All of a sudden PCC is for kids when Hasbro pitched these things at last years Botcon when asked about combiners. "we have something in the works we think you'll like" Unless a 10 year old asked them about combiners I'm pretty sure they were talking to collectors! Didn't Hasbro put them in a box and put them in the stores in the US? Please stop contradicting yourselves.
They don't totally suck. The scouts themselves are fantastic and imaginative little guys. Being new to the "less is more" type of collecting lately, they are a cheap and small alternative to larger, more expensive toys. They aren't hard to figure out, transform in a snap, and are absolutely great for kids. My niece has combined Bombshock and transformed him back and forth, and she is 4. The limbs, and not all combined guys looks too great. One out of 3 modes is less than stellar. So what? You still have a neat scout and minicon. They're also fun and excellent fiddlefodder. I find myself picking up the 2 pack guys more so than anything else on my desk at the moment. The new Dinobots/Constructicon packs look so much better in combined mode to boot. The only true problem I see rather than my taste in the combined mode is some of the QC, even though I have minor problems.
I guess since they don't care what the "fans" think, they won't read through tfw or siebertron for feedback on their products as they mentioned on the shout factory dvds.
