    Hey Gang

I was wondering if any of you got both these sets and were able to use them on your combiner? Love to see your pics and your thoughts if it is worth it to buy PC-23? I am getting the TCW this week.

    Just curious.

You know, I was wondering the same thing! I think the TCW's feet and hands look awesome, but I like the limb extensions for grimlock and wondered if they could both be used?

My TDW set just came in at Tfsource. Along with my PE set for Grimlock, so i hit the ship button on my stash. I'm going with the hybrid look, TDW dominant version, I just want the new Grimlock parts and that torso configuration but with the tdw waist, hands, feet, and chest plate.

As soon as my perfect effect kit comes in I’ll post some picks.

Shame is, if the two posts on the TDW back piece were about a quarter inch longer it wouldn’t put stress on the shoulders.

    PC-23 chest with Hasbro configuration
    100_3712.JPG 100_3714.JPG

Edit: I removed the TDW chest piece since it was putting a lot of pressure on the PE upper arms. Basically it was hitting the L-shaped tabs. A simple fix might be removing those tabs. I'll have to take some measurements to determine if a fix can be done to allow better clearance with the TDW chest and PE arms.

The TDW back with Hasbro configuration and PC-23 chest; I just rotated the back-to-shoulder connectors fully down, acting as filler pieces.

All your queries are answered in the PE-21/23 and TDW TCW-06 threads actually.

    PE left, TDW right.

    TDW notes--
I removed one tab from each side of the chest making it possible to use the stock shoulder setup. It seems the back connectors aren't long enough for the pegs from Grimlock to allow a setup that doesn't put a lot of unnecessary stress on the torso.

I'll have pictures of Volcanicus, with the PC-23 and TCW parts, once I get the feet and hand pegs sanded down.

I can’t get my stock forearms apart. Tips? I’ve tried an exacto to separate but no luck.

Yeah, mine were glued together at one or two peg points too, and I just used a broad head Common screwdriver and my Wave part seperator. Give it a hard twist and you'll just snap them off.

    20180831_165447.jpg

That part's done, I'm a little let down they don't use the spring plates that lock the combiner limbs into place, but otherwise they hold tightly enough.

I haven't finished transforming the Limb bots and connected the TDW feet and hands yet, but I made sure I got the TDW waist to work with the PE leg parts. I had to trim the bar that locks the legs together so I can have more clearance to swing the new waist armor on. It's still a little hard to fit on but it holds together.

    20180831_172154.jpg

I'm kind of tempted to take advantage of the stockpile of Grimlocks I've seen at Wal Mart and get a second one so I can have an unmodified figure to use the complete TDW set with.

Sorry to keep you all waiting... BEHOLD! VOLCANICUS!! Ver. R!

    20180831_203813.jpg

Got some minor balancing to fix, but it's not bad. I think I might have to use the PE waist. I appreciate the wedge tab for fitting the TDW sword into the palm.

since i use the tdw chest with the PE grimlock, i trimmed these tabs [i have a spare unmodded grim too] so that they would not push or later on scrape paint if i wasn't too careful

The part that connects the front plate to the rear section and hugs the hips is a T shaped part with a 5mm peg post, it comes up from under neath and the cross beams lock between the legs.

My TDW will be in today, but so far I've decided to use the PE front waist as my volcanicus' Back flap. I think it'll work pretty well but will have to wait and see.
