When working as a team I see it in action alot but when working with idiots I have to do it myself. Opinions?
I love it, drop one at a node in conquest and your teammates help fill it without knowing it. If you have a real team you can spawn many of them and just destroy everything.
A perk for the Soldier, it makes your ammo beacon spawn an Ion turret like the ones in the campaign. I small progress meter pops up above it like a node would have in Conquest. The more people near it, the faster it fills up and once it does you've got your turret.
Ion displacer for soldiers. lvl 23. "Spawn an ammo beacon and it will slowly charge an Ion Displacer" When I use it I SCREAM at our cloak/dash scouts to pick it up because I know they would murder with it.
after using it in 3 matches i hated it. it made me a target to every one to steal my ion displacer. it sucks having the enemy kill my team with my own gun
If you take your time and keep a lookout you should be fine, just don't charge into a node with one. Find a wall or some other place where your back isn't exposed and settle in, anyone who attacks you head on is going to be scrap in seconds. The Ion turret is more of a support weapon, back people up and don't wander off alone because you're a slow moving target.
I found that out on conquest. I went to a corner on seed and got the ion D. went behind a wall infront of one of the bases. everytime someone flew in there i'd quickly call out their position and blast them with the Displacer. worked really well
