Sorry to add to my wall of posts but watch this trailer. Something tells me this movie was the victim of the editing room or reshoots because there is a TON of stuff in that trailer that isnt in the movie. Maybe they where trying to throw us off but some of it looks way cooler than what we end up getting. Kristy throwing water on the demon and it attacking her and her mom? A little redundant but it would have been cool. Kristy jumping from the second floor to the first presumably supernaturally? Nice. A demonologist visiting the home and smashing his head against the table? That could have been creepy. Some kind of sequence taking place outside with Kristy taking shelter in a car? Uhuh. And the return of the fire possibly and the old yanking across the room scare? Yep. It seems like they had two versions planned or something and I don't get why they cut all this out.

Saw it last night! Last 15 minutes were the scariest thing ever! My audience like me were mostly teenagers so I did get a laugh out of everyone else!

saw it last night too. Not bad but I was really disappointed that the creepy stuff shown in the trailer was not in the movie. Pretty much nothing in the trailer is actually in there. I felt like I was watching a completely different movie than what was advertised. Can they do that?

I've never seen that trailer before and you're right, it definitely looks like a version more in line with what's been said in the first two movies. I can see the studio stepping in and changing things for the sole purpose of keeping the franchise alive.

Saw the first one. It was alright. Never felt the need to see any more after that.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of retcons from the previous two movies. And I'm really curious as to who was watching these tapes? I'm assuming the grandmother? If she's alive?

Just curious. What is in the trailer that actually was in the movie?
Also, does anyone else think that the quality of the footage is a little too good for video cameras in 1988.

Thats what sucks! Why should I have to buy a directors cut dvd just to see the stuff in the trailer. The $20 I paid at the theatre wasn't enough? Damn double dippers.

There have been unrated director's cuts of the first two on dvd, I don't see why they wouldn't do that again.

Saw it Saturday night with some friends. The first PA that I've actually seen in the theaters. It was alright, but I so drunk that I kept falling asleep since these films tend to be pretty boring.

The best part was a loud mouth guy commenting on everything that happened. It actually made the film more enjoyable.

I found this to be really terrifying, especially the 'bloody mary' part and the whole end sequence..very well done indeed.

the trailer version defiantly seems to tie in with the first 2 films, who ever's idea it was for showing a ton of footage in the trailer and trying to be clever were wrongfully mistaken. In a way they totally ripped the fans off and in the process with the trailer version they are trying to sell something already making a shit load of cash. If they had any sense they would not have even shown the footage, do a PA2 trailer show us a taster not the whole log and not show us the version we got in the cinema.
