It's so exciting that we're finally getting a TF movie with a different director.

 

One can only hope that BEE speaks through the film , I`ll be terribly disapointed if not   , with all that aside , I wonder who will be the rival con in the film ? , I have no doubt there will be at least one . Does any one think the film will follow the prior films , story wise ?

... Dave Green - director of this year's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows.

 

A female writer AND a new director? This has my interest!!!

 

Huh? Only Optimus and Megatron have knight-ish looks (Technically the Dinobots too but that was their style from the beginning). And ROM is not in the movie.

 

But back on topic... who's hyped for this? Because I sure as hell ain't.

While I like the fact that there is new blood and a Woman, writing the BB solo flick, I find it kinda suspect that they already have the script done when they're just now editing TLK. . .Pretty damn fast. . .

 

Optimus is the only one so far with a Knight theme, and G1 Bumblebee was basically the Jimmy Olsen of Transformers. "Golly gee willikers Optimus, what mess are you going to rescue me out of in this episode?"

 

Maybe this movie will give him that fabled "personality." I dunno. I just have no interest in it. The movies have made me so thoroughly sick of Bumblebee that I just don't care.

 

Or just make it an 80's movie, do we actually know how long he was on Earth for before he signaled the other Autobots to come to Earth in the 2007 movie? It could be Bee, Hotrod, Cliffjumper and Ultramagnus circa 1984 scouting out Earth and run into trouble then eventually split up around the globe and stay in disguise untill the 2007 movie... IDK

 

I assume it will be a family-oriented film.

But seriously.. is he actually going to talk in this movie? This is really something that needs to be addressed.

 

Well, that was the point of the Writer's room, churn out enough material for rapid-fire scripts so they can be making these things non-stop in order to get this 'cinematic universe of sequel films' off the ground.

They're trying to play catch-up to Disney/Marvel by having more films back-to-back to sustain interest, though I can't imagine the toyline is going to benefit given how distribution has been inconsistent for years and AoE toys only had two wave and still are clogging shelves in some places.

 

I hate the term "cinematic universe" so much.

It makes every movie feel like just another stepping stone, and unimportant by itself. It's one of the reasons I haven't seen a Marvel movie since... damn, AOU I think was the one that killed the concept for me. Especially when none of them feel like taking risks or being unique.

This is especially true of these DC and now TF films. They just feel like cranked out corperate product.

 

I don't particularly mind if Bumblebee stays mute, and I'm still looking forward to this film. Bumblebee is one of the few Autobots with a distinct personality in the movies, and he's the most consistently likable character in my opinion, as well. I'm hoping for a different director as well.

 

Hope it features bumblebee the way he looked in the first few movies and we finally get a decent, accurate toy out of the deal.

Man, I'd love to have a decent masterpiece toy of his design!

 

When the only passionate people in these movies are the visual effects team. And the money makers.

 

Holy shit, you didn't see Civil War?

 

Obviously. Nobody from 1861-1865 is alive anymore, so nobody still alive has seen the Civil War.
