Such an excellent figure. (Oh, and Omega is good too.)

 

Imagine if they downsize Constructor to the same scale for around the same price... I'm dreaming, I know... let me dream.

 

Got mine in.

First impressions were pretty good. He came in robot mode, looked and felt great out of the box. Materials and joints felt more than adequate.

Then I got into transformation and spending more time indepth. Kinda disappointed now. The transformation is simple (one of the reasons why DX9's Gabriel knocked it out of the park), but these guys somehow couldn't quite get it right. The control panel/face swivel is a well-documented and inexcusable problem (doubly stupid when you consider the interchangeable face). A lot of the hinged panels in the tank just don't work right because of clearance (some are just frictioned instead of pinned and pop right off). As such, for me, the tank doesn't fit together as well as it should. He came with blast effects, but I can't seem to get them to attach anywhere and they barely attach to each other properly. They included installed batteries for the electronics, which was nice.... except that the voice clip is in an Asian language. I don't think there's a way to change it or turn it off either, so if you like the light, you better like the voice too.

I think if you go straight from unbox to posing on a shelf, you're gonna be happy. If you intend to go much further beyond that, well... at least he was pretty cheap.

 

Thanks for the quick review, I was curious if the lights and sounds were tied together so good to know. Where did you order yours from, if you don't mind my asking?

 

guessing there must be a way to snip the connection to the speaker and keep the lighting effect intact and working.

that or someone needs to figure out how to reprogram and replace the sound clips stored in the memory chip.

Also, it's worth noting that since you're stuck with the voice clip (there may be more than one; my mandarin Chinese is too rusty to really make out what's being said), you're also stuck with a talking rocket in alt mode. Kinda silly, unless one of the clips translates to "I am sometimes a rocket, but never a raccoon."

Are you using that tiny circle adapter that came on the sprue)? It should fit over the light on his arm and you attach the blast effect to that. But ya, the thin long blast effect doesn't seem to fit to the others for me, peg too thick.

Also, there seems to be a two spots on both arms that can easily stress and crack, the plastic around the pin of arm doors:
I just screen-grabbed from the review Larkin did to show the spot, but on my copy there is a visible crack, right out of the box. Anyone else see stress or cracking at those points?

 

I want this so much.

 

I wish he had a forward toe tilt for walking poses... otherwise, he's pretty neat-o.

From what I see from posted photos, most people have two flaws here, but I have four.  

I'm still fine with it, though, due to the price point and that they aren't really visible at non-macro distances.

 

man i need that blast effect bumped up for the gabriel like asap. that shit looks so damn cool.

Huge Dragon vs Miracle God vs mashup (my fav) also MG W/ MS Devi and my connection on one arm is not the best looking. Also, that's Dr. Wu grey roller.

 

i've always had my eye on MFT over the past few years, and tempted to get it a few times given it was the only option. i'm so glad i refrained and held off and didn't pick it up.  

 

Idk, he's my fav desk bot. He so fun to mess with and easy transformation. This new fig is good too. However the tank is crap. Like super crap. If anyone else likes it please explain how.

 

I agree. Totally worth the $50 I spent on MFT huge dragon. I've had a fun Omega on my shelf the past 5 years because of it,, as opposed to none for 5 years. Having overly extended wings made the long wings on miracle god less annoying to me also. And now that this Pangu has replaced it in my Legends collection, MFT omega makes an awesome base for my Dr. wu collection.

 

I like the tank! It's terrible, but it's soooo cute.





As a deskbot to play around with, it's hard not to smile at the tiny thing.

 

No I was referring to pt-02 not mft. My pt-02 the flap on the rear barely stays on. The tabs don't hold properly, the middle section of the treads with the double hinges don't line up right and the front part of the tank is super stiff and barely moved. Just not a fun piece.
