does anybody have any advice on the best method to create realistic looking rust for figs? I know of the one where you leave steel wool in vinegar for a couple days and paint with that but is it a reliable and durable method? Any info would be much appreciated.

To look like its rusted by painting it, or to texture it?

I paint rust effects by applying any kind of flesh wash to silvers myself.
