Hello, I'm looking an app that I can take a picture of a model/kitbash and test out painting different color combinations, before buying paint or messing up models/toys... I know I've seen folks post images of this type of program before. Note: I don't want a paint tracker or a paint identifier one. That is all I can find. Any help?
The best I can think of would be photoshop, though it's a little difficult to do it. It's much harder but still possible in MS Paint.
I was hoping maybe there was a better coloring app... Maybe something like comic creators use that allows for layering would be better? Any cheap or free software out there anyone uses for that?
Gimp is a free Photoshop alternative. Bit more of a learning curve but what you want is pretty easy. Use magic wand tool or other selection tools to grab the bits you want and paste into a new layer. Then use colourise tool to tweak the hue, saturation and brightness. Better than solid colour because the shadows take natural shade into account.
Sorry, just seeing this. Unfortunately, the Gimp app for Android wasn't any good. It rates 1 star... I don't really use my laptop much so I haven't tried installing one on there.
