I get packages all the time. Wether it be toys(which is often) or cards, books, vitamins whatever. Who shops in stores these days? Well my usps lady seems to be annoyed with me lol. The other day when my DX9 Hanzo arrived she asks me if I'm moving across the street(cause my mailbox is on that side) today I get a package which was too big for the mailbox and I could tell she was annoyed having to get out of her truck and walk it over to my door. Ain't that a bitch?! Lady is ready for retirement with an attitude like that. Anyone else have mail people who are tired of having to you know "do their fucking job" and bring you your goodness?
I live on the border of the States and Canadia! I ship my stuff to a little building right across the border so I save like $20 on shipping, and they're always pretty nice!
I often have my stuff sent to work and head back to Receiving to pick it up. The manager there always wants to see what cool new `bot I've gotten this time!
I like when they leave the slip that says no one was home to receive the package in your mailbox, and you have to go to the post office and pick it up. Especially after watching them pull up and not even leave their vehicle.
My UPS and USPS delivery persons are rather cool...I get mutiple packages year round from various places as well...and...I usually time them pretty good so I'm near the door when they deliver...but...when I'm down sick I will manage to meet them at the window...so when they don't see me...they'll come to the bedroom window to knock...and...pass package through mom's window...the Fed-Ex folks aren't as nice...
My carriers are all nice from what I can tell...never complained about running boxes up to the door and their friendly when I see them. I guess there's always bound to be some sourpusses in every career field.
My carriers are always young guys on a tight schedule, so theyre always fast and businesslike but always friendly. There was that one time when i bought from a different webshop and another company delivered and the box they sent it in had "actionfigures" printed on it and stuff and the weirdo delivering gave the box a funny look so i gave him a funny look back when he looked up
I get mine delivered to a P.O. box, so I don't really see the deliverer much. However the person that runs the place knows me well, so before I get their he has the packages ready to go.
There is this crazy fed-ex lady that delivers to my apartment building. I have a note on the door to leave packages at the door unless a signature is needed. 1 time I caught her looking at my door, picking up my package and leaving. I ran after her screaming to wait, she ignored me the whole way to the parking lot until I screamed my name and apartment number. Then she finally stopped and went "is that really you?". I asked her why she left with the package and she said she needed a signature (no she didn't, it was some baby food from amazon). Well if you needed a signature why didn't you knock? 2nd time, she knocked, but she didn't need a signature. Asked me for 1 anyway. Handed me an ink ball point pen for one of those electric tablets. I looked at the pen and at her, trying to figure out what to do. She grabbed the pen out of my hand and went "Thank you" and left. Umm ok. She also woke the baby when she knocked for no reason. The mailman is ok, he argues with himself very loudly through my complex though, It's quite scary. He's the reason I put the do not knock sign up. The guy will knock for like 20 minutes and knock hard for the apartments all being just 1 room.
Yep. I've seen this. Especially from rural mail carriers. They dont' get paid based on time - they get paid a fixed amount based on their route length, number of houses, etc. So they often cut corners to finish their route as soon as possible.
As others have said - I get any packages delivered to work. Had very few problems, except for one time when it said that they attempted delivery, but no one was there (5:30pm). Well, that was bullshit, since I was there from open to close 7AM-8PM. I did get the package the next day.
Don't have any problems with USPS or UPS. FedEx on the other hand? They're constantly leaving packages without knocking on my door even though I specifically input instructions on their website to deliver at the complex office if no one answers. I even have a sign on my door too. I've even caught her tossing boxes to my door from further down the walkway because she didn't want to walk all the way down to the end where my apartment is. Her excuse was essentially 'aint nobody got time for that'.
The amazing thing is how they get that slip there without leaving their vehicle. That's some David Blaine shit right there. The mailman here often will come inside for me to sign for stuff. Same guy for years. Anyways, we have a deal going where he will just put a package under a table in my fenced area if I'm not around. Often on a cold day I'll make the guy a not too hot chocolate and he can warm up a bit before hitting the pavement again. He always asks what it is this time because my collection is all displayed right in the living room.
My mail carrier is awesome. Our neighborhood loves him. He really goes above and beyond for us. When he goes on vacation, you can tell the subs are on the route.
Same here! You find out real quick when they are sick or on vacation! I take care of him at Christmas, give him a drink, sometimes a cup too, but he just drops it off the next day lol When I got my original Fort Max I was outside with my older boy(maybe 2 then?) and he got to climb in the back of the mail truck and stuff lol. Same guy since I moved here.
I've never had any problems with any of my mailmen actually. In fact, sometimes they'll stop me if I'm driving by while they are on their route to give me a package.
