See, that's what I was thinking a week ago. It's not a matter of if your NECA toys break, it's when. Soon it will happen, and your tears will be added to NECA's overflowing goblet.

My Jaegers are all still perfect and I'm glad I didn't buy any Kaiju

I never had any issues with my figures as well, the first series had some loose joints. Series 2 wasn't bad too. What I usually do is immediately after opening the figure is I heat it up with a blow dry before moving any joints. Most of them are stiff from being stuck in shipping all the way from China plus warehouses here in US. That includes rapid change of temperature making them fragile

Ignoring the fresh out of package problem with Tresspasser..

I do quite enjoy this new Kaiju mold.
The size and detailing is certainly impressive.
If only Leatherback had as much useful articulation as Tressie.
    Speaking of..

One thing that bothers me is the restricted elbow articulation.
Why?.. Judging by pictures it looks like the elbows would have plenty of motion, but the plastic from the upper arm prevents them from bending more than roughly 30 degrees.
Such a waste for one of the new "super articulated deluxe kaiju" figures.

NECA's just incompetant when it comes to articulation. Their well-articulated figures seem like accidents. How they screw up a simple elbow on a non-restrictive design baffles me.

    You need some new material.

"LOL DEES TOYZ BRAEK" only covers about a third the problem, here. It still uses a universal joint. Clearence for it to bend wouldn't affect durability.

So I got a hold of Cherno Alpha and Coyote Tango.

My goodness. Cherno is really nice apart from a few things here and there.
Funny he ended up being the most articulated of the jaegers :lol
I just wish you could fold the thumbs in.
Giant robots or not, you just don't throw a punch with your thumb sticking out.

Coyote looks very nice, but the articulation is honestly pretty crap.
I'd say the original Gipsy has more range of motion?
Coyote even has bicep articulation, but it's so limited that it's almost pointless.

My Coyote also took a dive from my shelf while I went to cook dinner.
What a miracle, nothing happened to him. Yet.

    Overall. Cherno, yay! Coyote, meh.

The thing is, sometimes I wonder why I even stick with this hobby. I generally don't keep stuff for more than a year or two anymore. And if I do keep it, it's usually in some shelf behind a cabinet door or something like that. I think my NECA stuff will last a little longer than most, basically because they don't have the opportunity to fall and I never actually handle them.

The stuff from NECA that impresses me the most is the Bioshock II line. Those designs and molds are absolutely fantastic, and it's such a shame they stopped making more Big Daddy's.

Today my local TRU had LOADS of Cherno Alphas and Coyote Tangos. Three each of Trespasser and Knifehead as well. $19.99 for the Jeagers and $29.99 for the Kaiju.

So I built this thing for a LEGO Contest that I did not win.

So now I can show it to you.

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/sets/72157643248849564/

My redesign of the Creator Set #4099 “Robobots.” Made using only parts included in the set, it features loads of articulation, an attachable sword, and a little boat for him to defend.

    The articulation is comprised of:

    -a rotating neck

    -a 360 degree rotating waist

    -movable shoulder panels

    -movable back panels

-arms that move outwards, forwards, and backwards

    -bendable elbows

-hands that move at the wrist

-fingers and thumbs that can open/close

-hips that move outwards, forwards, and backwards

    -double jointed knees

-and ankles that move forward and backwards

The sword can be attached to either forearm.

The boat features little loading cranes that can be positioned, as well as a moving rudder.

I also have a Crimson Typhoon that I have not snapped photos of yet. It also can be made from one Lego set, no parts added and very little left over.

From far away it reminds me of animated Sentinel Prime.

I have not seen that beautiful Cherno Alpha restock at toys R us near me, but happy I got mine from amazon at least.

Unsupported piggyback. That's amazing! I don't think I have any other toy that can do this.

Stahp posting Cherno pictures. You're actually making me slightly reconsider not buying Cherno.

Nope. All the QC issues I've seen posted have made me stray off from buying the line. The worst I've heard about Cherno is the fingers falling off and an isolated incident about one of the feet but apart from that, nothing as major as Striker's entire leg snapping off.
