Well, Crimson and Gipsy do have their jets for boosted jumps. I would imagine that if there was a flying Jaeger, it wouldn't be airborne for long (imagine the fuel needed to haul that shit into the air!), but it would be airborne long enough to slice up whatever flying Kaiju is messing around, or divebomb a ground one, and it would look awesome.

Depends how far humanity advances by the time of the sequel, but I think a flying Jaeger unveiling its boosters could be as awesome as Otachi spreading its wings :D

I just hope we get another Crimson-type, a multi-armed fighter; Crimson's body is still mostly intact, so they could feasibly retrieve it and upgrade it.

Oh boy, I'm been waiting for this thread to become a Jaeger Designer Showcase, as that site has been my favorite time-suck of the last couple weeks...

    Awesomeness. Pure, canned, refined, awesomeness.

Yes and no. They should be able to execute short, brief, aerial jumps to get into the air, maybe hover for a few seconds, but not complete in the air flight.

Yeah, basically Legendary asked a bunch of YouTube video game people to help out with a promo video, as opposed to just doing the usual crap cranked out by marketing execs.

Nay to flying, if only because I doubt their level of tech ever got that far. I mean people were impressed by the Crimson Typhoon's Thundercloud Formation which was essentially
a multi-armed buzzsaw attack, followed by the grab and flip-over throw (sorry don't know the technical term for such a move)
    .

If there was a Jaegar capable of actual flight vs. a boosted jump, the people would lose their shit. Even from the reaction in the first movie, I think the flying Kaiju was the first the humans have seen.
