I'm worried about the quality of the effects in this movie.

Something about the new Gipsy seems to lack that polish and high-budget feel of the original Jaegers. Maybe it's just because of the fact that it's promo art, but in this day and age with the first movie already out its weird to feel this way.

I'm still wondering when we'll get a proper teaser trailer. The movie is six months away and we only have a small promo video so far.

Ehh, kinda worried about this one. Rumors I've heard from some pretty reliable sources has me less interested than I was before.

We got confirmation of a full trailer about a week ago, going to be released online during NYCC.

    I wouldn't worry about it.
    I'm sure it'll look fine.

Boyega looks properly like Stacker Pentecost's son with that mustache. Hope he inherited dad's intensity in giving rousing motivational speeches!

I just looked at his IMDB... how is two TV shows and two movies in the past two years outside of TFA "being everywhere"?

Because one of those movies was a Star Wars movie so his face is plastered on everything, because the Star Wars franchise is the king of over-saturation.

I was only counting The Circle and Detroit, really, hence the "outside of TFA," but with you pointing out that Star Wars is everywhere I now feel kinda dumb for trying to build a counterpoint.

Man, he just keeps popping up for me! Guess he's not as prevalent as I thought.

Still, no issues with him in this and I hope he does a good job.

Right. I'm glad that Boyega is in this and playing the son of Stacker.

I mean hey I feel dumb too for not even noticing you saying "outside of TFA", haha. That's just what I assumed they meant by "everywhere". Whoops.

That Pentecost even had a son feels forced. He pretty much knew he was going to die in that end battle, but nothing about saying goodbye to his son or anything like that?

They either were not close or didn't know of each other, but the son decides to be a yeager pilot anyway. That's still forced.

Pentecost having a son makes the Mako/Stacker dynamic kinda odd to me. It certainly doesn't feel like an idea Del Toro had from the start and feels like a really forced plot point imo.
