Those who own the mold KEEP A WATCH FOR BREAKAGE ON Hook, The peg holding the vehicle mode together will snap, and the peg on Bonecrusher on the right shoulder the one that pegs into Hook's foot will break and snap from the weight of being combined, and the chest shield will become stuck, and snap off leaving the figure unable to combine anymore So if you have them in Devastator mode, DO NOT UNCOMBINE HIM IF YOU CAN, Never combine him if you haven't it will lead to breakage after a couple of Months if you wish to uncombine him, The pegs are tight when he combines but that is the issue, they have no give so if something goes wrong or the tolerance is too tight the combiner will break, the pegs are hollow on the inside, so their is no real support,

He was too big for his own good and too heavy for the thinness of the plastic used, might be just my copy but just be on the look out just in case,

I mean, those look like pretty easy breaks to remedy and to avoid if its just the pegs snapping. Does absolutely suck that it broke for you though, hopefully pliers / tweezers can get those peg-ends out so you can reglue or just gluing directly and hope its strong enough so when you remove the piece after it sets it takes the rest of the peg with it.

That also being said, sucks this even happened given this thing was 'big' (and sacrifices made so it COULD be 'big') just to be a children's play thing, and play (combining and separating) is what appears to have did it in.

The purple peg in the chest is flat against the chest cannot get a grip, it's like it got sliced off or something

Huh, bad news, I was thinking about finally picking up the UW version of this guy for my birthday, I might think about something else instead. Has anyone else had this issue?

Too be honest, I hope not, I pray this is an isolated incident, I pray that Hasbro and TakaraTomy didn't cut so many corners that they made a combiner fans waited for, for decades into something unenjoyable, but i fear that is the case and we may hear more cases as time goes on,

That peg's been a known issue for some time. I ran a small screw down the center of it (it's hollow with a hole opening at the end) and it's been holding fine ever since.

I've combined/decombined mine about 20 times or so as well as all of the individual robots. They're all fine on mine. Like as good as the day I got. I haven't heard any compmaints about the UW version since it came out. Get UW Devastator man.

My son has been playing with the constructicons for over a year individually and had Devastator combined multiple times. So far nothing has broken on him. Even when Ft. Max decided to stomp him. Devy is built pretty well.

I'm interested in the UW version, now I'm a bit scared. Even if it can be repaired, it sucks having to repair such an expensive figure.

This thing has been out for more than a year at this point and this is the first I've heard of any severe breakage issues beyond the few pegs on the front.

I have 2 CW Devastators that I've combined and uncombined numerous times and neither have had this issue so far.

probably, the same day the doors on my kitchen cabinet snapped off the hinges,
those pegs hold the combine mode together so without them, Devastator is nothing

I have the UW version. I had it combined for roughly a whole year. Mine has a combo of the SF and DX9 upgrades so it is even heavier. I just uncombined it two weeks ago and there are no problems.

Better pics would help. Is it possible that someone else in your household knocked it over or something and didn't tell you about it?

In focus on a solid background using a lamp and no flash.
