I have zero issues with anything tabbing on my copy. I do have two other issues though. 1, bicep swivels are TIGHT, so holding at the shoulder and base of elbow are necessary on mine. 2 upper knee joint is a little weak with the amount of weight the upper body has (thinking about it I'll probably tear him down tomorrow and rectify it). Apart from that he is 100% gorgeous and readily available.

BA Prime I'm playing with and aside from a couple hijinks, he's a solid figure.

If you don't mind my asking, what is it that you're not sold on with BA's?

I don't like that the guns don't go anywhere in bot mode. While I know other figures don't either, they also don't go anywhere in alt mode.

    Just a weird hang-up I have.

Just to make sure I follow, you don't like that BA's has guns that have a place in alt mode, but not boy mode, and you like the consistency of the other figures that don't have a place for the guns in either mode?

    Correct. Weird, yes.

    Stupid, yes.

    Non-sensical, yes.

Haha no judgement here! I'm so some what held up on him as well. I already have LT and BMB and, while he does a lot more better than the those two, I don't know if it's enough to warrant picking him up and having a 3rd prime...

I just love the imagery of this. Currently waiting on OS iron hide and OS sideswipe. Hopefully I can pick up MPM bee at TFcon. But MAN their vehicle modes are badass!

Oh my God your collection is perfect!
That's exactly what I also want to achieve!
I preordered the BA OP but know I start thinking that the BMB scale even better.
Man it's so difficult to choose!

I can see why it'd be difficult. Both have their pros and cons. You just gotta decide for yourself which drawbacks aren't that big of a deal. With BMB, you get a bigger figure which is more accurate to scale. With BA you get a smaller (than BMB) figure with a more accurate back in bot mode and chrome in alt mode. BMB has a better profile and doesn't have that beer gut, and while his back isn't accurate, it's not the ugliest thing ever, just slightly busier than BA. BA, while his bot mode offers a better back...the beer gut is what kills it for me. As well as being smaller than BMB, alt mode and bot mode doesn't look right to me, especially when posed next to the other figures.

Stick with the BA. It is the superior figure in everyday. Superior truck mode, superior robot mode, the paint job is amazing, and the back is a work of art. In fact the transforming fuel tank is a work of genius too. It is a brilliant solution to the mold by BA.

Contrary to popular belief he does scale well with BMB figures.

Looks great next to BMB Ironhide and MPM3 Bumbleebee. Scales really well with BMB ROTF Megatron too, Starscream, and Brawl too.

For the longest time I almost gave up on waiting for the BA in favour for the BMB version but I am glad I waited. To me despite the impressive size, BMB somehow managed to make the wonky proportion of the original even wonkier with the alternate backpack placement and the new shoulders. Made OP upper body super wide like some cartoon ape.

The beer gut is a non issue because it can be configure in many ways and you will sure to find one you like.

Here is mine with a movie accurate abs placement and also a pic next to MPM3 Bumblebee.

It is truly the best OP movie figure yet.

I disagree that BA is superior. Neither figure outclasses the other due to both having things that hold them back from being definitive. No matter how you adjust the ab section on BA, he still has that gut. Unless you do the mod that essentially makes BA Prime a slight partsformer, there's no avoiding the beer belly look. BMB's chest, torso, ab section are far more accurate. As for the shoulder pieces, let's be honest here, they're always moving. It's down and closer to his arms, or open wide. There's no definitive look here for that. It's all preference.

There's no arguing that BA has the superior bot mode back and better paint apps in truck mode...however he's still undersized. You're Only comparing him to MPM Bee, what about ironhide? Official MPM ironhide is small to begin with, which is why I got BMBs OS version. As you can see in the pic I posted earlier, both BMB prime and ironhide are far more accurate.

Ultimately, it all boils down to what the consumer wants. Better paint apps in both modes, and better back assembly? BA all the way. But one needs to consider the poorly thought out ab section, as well as the size, and he is undersized. Want a prime that doesn't look like he's been retired for a year and is bigger? BMB baby. But one needs to consider the not as accurate back assembly and non chromed parts i.e gas tanks, grill and collarbone section.

IMO neither figure is definitive. It's all a matter of preference.

Let’s get real here. The beer belly look is movie accurate. In fact one of the common complain of MPM 4 when it came out was that the abs isn’t protruding enough and how the old leader class toy got it more accurate. I also forgot to mentioned that BA has the far superior arms. BA totally reengineered that section.

Funny that you mentioned about the mod especially when the mod did nothing to change the depth of the beer belly. What the mod did was lowering the chest windows. The position of the abs stays the same depth wise. It does sit lower but that is a position you can actually get to even without modding.

I will argue that BA prime scales well with BMB Ironhide. I don’t have comparison pics myself but hop over to the BA thread as others have shared. If anything BMB OP is abit too OS even to scale within BMB OS line.

If you actually have the BA prime in hand we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

I had to see both in hand to come to this conclusion. With both in hand, objectively speaking, BA is the clear winner in everyway. Best of all, the BA only costs slightly more than the BMB.

Sure BMB is the heavier figure but it is also the less stable figure. When posing it, it is constantly at the threat of toppling over due to how heavy it is and also the less than tight ankle joints. It is a symptom common with most of BMB figures unfortunately (especially the ROTF Megatron).

These are the primes I also own:

    IMG_5767.JPG
    IMG_5768.JPG

I have visited the BA thread. That's where I get the beer belly term.

the beer belly is accurate? Right, That's why people have been complaining since final product photos surfaced? And after release, have been researching ways of either minimizing the effect and or completely eliminating it? It's come to the point where owners of BA Prime have accepted that this is how the figure is and unless they do drastic alterations, it's something we're going to have to live with. Cmon man, let's not kid ourselves here. I get that you prefer BA Prime. It's fine. I prefer BMB Prime...but I'm not gonna go make claims like "BMB prime is far superior". I'm looking at it objectively. I'll repeat; they both have their pros and cons...and NEITHER version outclasses the other.

As for the size, dude, look at the real life photo I provided. There's no argument.

Hey...trivial things are JUST as important as the major things. And don't let anyone else tell you otherwise!

All joking aside...that screen cap of prime further proves the point for those that complain about BA's beer belly. Whilst that section of the upper abs angles out further than MPM/BMB primes, there's still no beer gut.

    IMG_5771.PNG
    IMG_5773.PNG

There's protruding...but then there's BA levels of protruding. Which is why I'll say it again, profile wise, BMB takes this one.
