For those still shopping upgrade heads, sounds like DMS may be done with WMW and Leafage heads in favor of the new L8 studio ones.

And keep in mind I make heads for Optimus Prime to, in seperate sizes or in proper scale for each and every prime (MPM, OS/WJ-BA and BMB)
Both painted and unpainted available and with removable battlemask.

 

Yeah I don't see much difference in the heads, but they do seem to have switched to a new supplier.

So i decided to do a little heavily modifying to the Thunder leader.
Since I am not going to be needing the weapon storage I could fix the altmode up. The fueltanks now tuck in UNDER the sleepercab (where they belong) and I removed the springloaded wheels for single ones with the deeper dish so I could also reduce the width of the wheelarches.(slightly modded those to)
If all goes well, the truck is now 16 mm slimmer around the sleepercab and 14 mm at the rear wheels making it as correct as possible in altmode.
I will make new toolboxes that tuck inside the fueltanks when in botmode so dont worry I did not forget them.

I also printed him a new head in the correct size and will remove the matrix chamber to fit the head it in altmode without partsforming..
I will do a complete repaint on him once all mods are complete.

Now all I need to decide is if I go the route of 2007-ROTF Optimus Prime or go completely nuts and go DOTM on his tin behind... what do you think?

I might have missed both chances to buy BA Optimus Prime at a good price, but I decided to customize my LT02 and give it a similar transformation.

So I spend some hours this weekend on BA and printed him a fresh head in the ratio it is on the DLX and Prime1 statue's (12% bigger than the normal head)
this will mean I have to loose the Matrix chamber for transformation but will allow him to be more accurate so to me it is a no-brainer.
I also got the fuel tanks to work how they are supposed to/ did before,
although they are moved inward by a full 8mm.
This will delete the gun storage but I am fine with that.
and I almost got the fenders to work,They look great in alt mode at 6mm more inward to the chassis but I need to find a way to gap 4mm between them and where they store in robotmode


I still need to solve the smokestacks since I don't want parts forming, ideally they would be in the backpack but I need a way of bending them when they are in there so they don't stick out.

And am printing him new side mirrors as well and Am still considering making him into the DOTM version of Prime but those can be changed before it is time to paint him.


Oh, and I am considering modding the doors like I did on my BMB LS03F, (remove the yellow bit from the door and glue it onto the window frame so it can be red as it should be in altmode while it also cleans up the bulk of the doors a little, I feel it is a win-win.

 

Great work. I'm curious, have you also made a head for the DLX RotF Prime?

 

I only made this head for Prime but I believe it was the same in all 3 movies (2007, ROTF, DOTM)
what was different about the ROTF one?

Well, no one in his right mind would sell something that enables others to potentially profit off of his work.

His prices are fair, so if you want a head, just buy one.
