Sorry to hear your experience was not favorable @Shmoptimus Prime and hopefully you can get replacement parts! I feel for ya, man.

I really enjoyed transforming him, also without instructions. The first time I tried getting him into truck mode I almost figured it all out, but couldn't figure out the rear fenders and gave in to watching a video for that part. The transformation back to robot was even more enjoyable for me and it's become the most favorite in my collection.

*** I will say that pulling apart the smokestack halves is definitely a point of anxiety.

@jru42287 I love MP Sunstreaker! One of my top figures!

I like him, just felt like his transformation was unnecessarily frustrating.

I'm starting to feel okay about passing on this guy. Was initially waiting for a DOTM version, but I like to transform my figures without being terrified of breaking them.

Good luck. I'm waiting for my replacement parts since 3 months because CNY and then Covid happened :(

I really can't see how that could've happened, unless you pulled it out at an angle

He looks good in both modes and has a lot of potential, but I don’t wanna have to handle him with super delicacy. If the transformation was the same but with no risk of breaking then I wouldn’t be as disappointed. And don’t get me wrong, I’m pissed today but I dunno if I can stay mad at such a sexy bot :D
And yet it did. Different copies of the same figure can have different tolerances. I think they didn’t account for the chrome when they designed the piece.

THE HEAD REPORT (05.01.20): Capcomkai is gonna have ANOTHER replacement head available, this time from leafage design. It's going to be cast so it'll be stronger plastic than the dino model shop one (that I JUST dropped almost $45 on :(  ) and it will apparently be available in MPM, BA and DMK-sizes!

Just throwing in my two cents, I play with mine A LOT and I have no fear of it breaking. I've trasformed mine at least 20 times to and fro now and it's holding up great. You just need to take the time to figure out what the tolerances are like and it's second nature, pretty much the same for every new figure. 100% the best Prime figure I've ever handled.

Of course, I might just be super lucky, but I think he's worth picking up despite the risk.

I'm gonna back this post now.
Just want to make sure people are seeing plenty of positive posts about Black Apple Prime, in addition to the glut of posts by those who are having issues with their personal copy.
I've not had issues with either of my copies, aside from some tiny scratches in the chrome grill on my first one.

When did you get yours? Cause I've been hearing from multiple sources that the QC is worse on later waves.

So it's basically the same design by leafage, but casting?
As they mentioned, it seems to be more expensive than Dino's leafage 3d print. Hmmmm, the more expensive it is, the less I'd consider getting one, especially it is not transformable :(

Just thinking that with few more bucks I can get TE02 shipped to my home :(

Now I'm considering shortening the plug of the smokestack down to half...

    IMG_20200501_092715_Bokeh__01.jpg

    Edit:

I reduced the ends to half their length.

    IMG_20200501_100914_Bokeh__01__01.jpg

Hopefully this will make it much easier to plug and unplug them from the upper halves of the smokestacks.

Do any of those sources work on the QC team at the Weijiang factory?
First one came from TF-Direct sometime before my second one (11/28/19) from Show Z.

That's not at all what he said, he just said "might be a bit expensive". There is no word on price yet, although I'd be surprised if it wasn't around the same price as the 3D printed one.
That still sucks tho. I don't know why they made it so tight.
That's smart. I might do that as well or at least shave the plugs down. The connection doesn't need to be that tight to function, right?
Um no...This is obviously anecdotal and I didn't imply that it wasn't, so why even ask? The point of this forum is to share our experiences and those of others. I've had 3 messages over instagram telling me the same thing, plus people here saying it.

I asked Cap yesterday about the transformability of this second head offering, and at this point it seems it's still not going to fit..
