i wonder what would have to be modded to get it to transform. like you could mod the other head people traded out i think it was from black mamba and you just shaved off some of the joint to get it to fit.

Well, the gap was there in the official because there's some residue that prevents the face to rotate properly.
Although I can see the BA's head is definitely more detailed in this comparison.

I guess it was confirmed that it doesn't fit in the truck mode? If so, what would have to be removed is all from the inside which shouldn't impact function and appearance in either form.

I went ahead and took pictures and marked everywhere I cut plastic away. It's probably overkill, and so much of what I removed may not have to be removed.

In this pic above, I added the plastic red rectangular bits to help prevent the roof halves from sliding too far out. This shores up the shoulder tabs that plug into the shoulder joints.

These are the only 2 cuts I did that are exposed in truck mode. They make additional room for the hinges of the truck doors (behind the windows). I may have cut too much here too, but it seemed to be a point of obstruction.

Looks like a heck of a lot of work, but I had the time on my hands.

Wow dude you did some serious surgery! Can you post another pic of the results in bot mode? I'm still undecided if I want to go all-in on this guy with the new head and doing mods to the chest to get it to sit in more. I feel like I should but I don't know why....Maybe "I want to" is a good enough reason?

Nice, and i think i need to give this guy a break, I just got him and have been snipping away slowly.

honestly I don't think what I've done has even made a difference because as long as I've had him hes been changing ya know?

but savio-prime did you manage to get the chest to sit into the first notch on the hood? that was my goal.

It honestly looks so good that I can probably look past having to remove it to transform. IF it has to be removed that is, still a lot of conflicting statements.

i know its not the solution but only way i see it not having to come off is if it telescopes into the old neck collar.

like say a flat head screw where the pin is that goes up through collar into the base of the neck that houses a thinner tube that connects to the head letting the "neck" telescope up and down letting the "helmet" sit around the collar or rest on it.

    Collar is a weird word.

Dude well done. It looks amazing. I think I'm gonna start cutting into mine. I don't think I'm gonna sell him like I initially planned. Your custom work plus the new head that's available have convinced me!
Dino Model Shop just confirmed to me in a PM that it is too big to transform while attached. Unfortunate, but I think I'm there with you where I don't know if I care anymore :p  It looks so incredibly accurate.
Are those pieces of credit cards??

EDIT: I made some cuts and I'm very happy with the results so far! Just a couple questions below if someone would like to help me. OK I'm ready to cut into this guy, but I'm scared. I want to make absolutely sure I'm cutting in the right places first! I have this youtube video I'm gonna follow, plus @savio-prime 's pics. Wish me luck!

So I made some cuts! Left side of the pic is unmodded, right is modded. Looking better already.

I'm wondering: is this red tab below needed for transformation or truck mode? It seems to really get in the way of the chest collapsing in more.

    IMG_2334.jpg

Also, something I haven't seen anyone talk about is the inner door screw hole. I shaved some of this part off and now it sits a bit more flush to the chest which I think looks nice!
    IMG_2335.jpg

Oh, and I officially asked dino model shop to hold one of the new heads for me. I'm getting the non-LED one for $35 plus $6 shipping. LED one is $45 in case anyone was wondering. He said it isn't in stock yet but should be in the next couple weeks. Something about last minute tweaks.

Huh. weird. He told me it was $30 and $40 for the respective heads... I'll have to check him on that.

Did you have to pay for the hold? Who knows when shipping will pick up again.
