Guys I have bad news... I just talked to a Japanese source who gets a decent amount of intel on customs or 3rd party figures and I asked him will Wei Jiang produce a dotm version of WJ black apple. He responded later with "No, not likely". I know this should be taken with a grain of salt, but the dude knows his stuff and has connections. I really hope Wei jiang changes their mind about this decision, as I believe they can fix many issues with a dotm release. The dotm design is my favorite movie design of prime and I know others on here wanted a dotm variant as well. 

 

As I said, the figure isn't 100% accurate, but the chest can be fitted better than the people is saying. Compare my pictures with the rest of the users. Tell me if the chest on my figure is so chunky like the others, and I only putting the tabs inside their inner gaps, without mods or magic.

Quick question about the mod. Would it be enough to just cut off the peg instead of relocating the hole? Would there be enough holding the chest pieces in place?

People are never happy. There is always some flaw with a figure, it’s human nature . Most people who have him in hand like him, so I’d say it’s a fairly loved design.

(Also who cares if people like or don’t like him. It’s your purchase, buy what you like.

You're totally right. It seems many people can see the virtues of the figure, they only see the "non-accurate belly / chest", for me is the MOST accurate transformable figure I ever seen of Optimus Bayverse.

 

Okay, I just made a very interesting discovery. In actual fact, the chest pieces were indeed supposed to sit much lower (like on the right.)



Taking the chest piece apart, you can see that there's this grey piece that's supposed to tab in securely.



However, in order to do so, the peg needs to be pushed slightly back to line up with the hole. Unfortunately, due to the modifications like the hinge in the front that hides that red hood piece, this is not possible.

Anybody down to make an upgrade that fixes that tab, maybe? This seems like a perfect job for Shapeways.

 

Actually, the tab is not the issue. In order for the chest to sit flush like the MPM, you need to shave down these bits in order to make room for the red pieces.

 

I don't want to bother anyone but I have to repeat it again; in the silver plate, inside the chest, there are to lineal gaps where you can put the red pieces solidly, like this picture where you can see the chest is less chunky and it will have a better look. I'm sorry!!.

 

I am gonna assume English is not your first language because people meant the chest gap when what you are talking about is the abs gap which is not really an issue people have. The issue people have with the abs is the angle of it but that seems to have been solved a few pages ago.

The only concern now is how far apart the chest windows are from each other and people are annoyed that it is something WJ could have implemented since a simple mod a page or two back shows that in can indeed be made to tabbed much closer together.
