Aoyi oversize legendary optimus prime

 

So I finally got a hold of the M-01B. When I bought it, it said it was missing the alt head, but I didn't realize they meant it's missing the head with the face shield on it like the pic I have attached.

Anybody happen to have one they don't want anymore that I could buy off them or would have any clue if there is somewhere on the web that might sell this head? Any help would be very much appreciated.

 

Their rusty version looks amazing.

I know this thread is dead for 4 months, but basically, I kinda wanted one of these, but after the death of Weijiang and the fact that this event has caused many of Weijiang's best products to be overpriced, I have decided to take apart and reverse engineer my official Evasion Mode Optimus Prime. I'll post some custom images when I completely finish it and probably some more on a different thread in the future.

You can still find Wei Jiang Commander M-01 tho. And it's appropriately priced. When i got mine it was only $100.

 

Yeah. I know, but I still don't plan to buy the actual KO. It's pretty oversized, and I wanted my figure to scale with my other standard class (deluxe, voyager, leader) figures, though no doubt Weijiang did a grand job on their customizing, so I'll have to thank Black Apple for his influence. Still sad that he retired after his release. Also, I've got another project going on- a BA inspired Ironhide. Made a thread last year, but I killed it for a long time. Might reopen it in the future.

 

That would be easy. I already started some designs and collected pieces of trash to build into the figure (I don't have a 3d printer). This started in mid-February, but I hadn't had time to comment here. I studied pictures of the real prototype figures and watched reviews cause I don't have the real M01. It actually looks pretty good, but the back of the truck that becomes his shoulder pads kinda partsforms. I painted my figure already 3 years ago and built countless custom weapons so besides the shield, axe, blades, and rifle, I have a machete, a laser cannon/axe weapon, and his original G1 weapons, plus the shotgun that was meant for DOTM Megatron.

Hmm. How about Takara Legendary Optimus Prime? It's their own upscaled Evasion Prime. It's taller than the original Voyager, but way smaller than the WJ KO. He's basically modern Leader Class sized.

 

Alright, guys. This came sooner than expected (don't forget that I was almost done with the project when I announced it here). However, these are robot mode only. I'll post vehicle mode another time cause I'm going to do homework later.

 

I looked at many prototype images of the M01 Commander on Google, then I used the resources around me to start work. The hinge that swings the middle tire up is a Lego Technic piece (which resulted in me sacrificing the tire's spinning, his laser pistol is made of the leftover grey parts (the fuel tanks and the single smokestack, which was cut in half), the hinges on his wrists are paperclips through a cut pen ink filling, his backpack now has two panels made of cardboard, his back mudflaps are cardboard from soap packaging, and his shoulder pads are made of cardboard and hinges similar to the ones I made for his wrists. Obviously, I painted him a lot, and he has his shield and melee weapons that appeared in the real Commander M01 (energon axe, and swords). I know, his laser pistol is pretty tiny in scale when compared to the real M01's fuel tank rifle.
